Mission: Shore Leave
Location: Starfleet Command Base
Timeline: 239512.16

Captain's Log Stardate 239512.16

Starship Leto on final approach to Starbase 50. The last week has been relatively uneventful. I am anxious to offload the refugees from the USS Roosevelt. I have been told to report to the base commander at 0900 tomorrow morning. the rest of the crew has limited shore leave to shop or pick up things they want that aren't available in the sips stores. No repairs are needed for the Leto so this should be a routine stop.

----------Bridge----------

"We are on final approach now Captain." The helmsman said.

"Good Ease us into a standard orbit. There is no need to dock".

"Aye Captain."

"Mr. Gibbs You Mr. Blake and Commander Belbre will report with me to the commodore's office in the morning. the rest of you can rotate different shifts planetside." The Captain instructed.

Belbre replied, "Aye Captain. I am just wanting a short trip to see the Betazed Council representative. And will be free from then on. They have some information for me from Betazed that needs my attention. I can do it after the meeting"

"Very well Commander," Maia replied.

Ryan nodded. "Aye Captain." Sheena's current duties as Chief Engineer had him assuming more and more command-related tasks in his position as Second Officer.

Rick raised an eyebrow a moment but wasn't going to question it, giving a little bit of a nod, "I don't see having a problem with that."

Dr. Hendon and Mr. Tanger will assist in the offloading of our refugees." the Captain said

Robert had popped up to the Bridge to seek out a crewmen. Who had skipped a medical. But in reality, he just wanted to see their approach to Starbase 50.

" On the way Captain," Robert said

Tanger had just stepped of the turbolift and heard the captain say he would assist the refugees. "I would enjoy that duty ma'am." Tanger replied and he stepped over to where Hendon was and then looked at his PADD that had a list of all the refugees on the Leto to assist with offloading.

" The cargo transporter might be best to use. We can beam down more refugees. The quicker we get them to Starbase 50's medical center, the better." Hendon said

"The rest of you keep the ship from flying apart until we return." the Captain added.

"Standard orbit achieved, Captain".

"Excellent"

Sciences remained on the bridge. The station was quiet as they were orbiting Starbase 50. Ross looked over all the indicators, and there was nothing to report. He turned in his sciences chair to see the Leto circling the Starbase.

“All science systems remain optimal,” Gavin reported.

Isabelle arrived on the bridge. “Counselling department is currently quiet Captain, I can assist with the refugees if required.”

Grumbling as Sheena got off the lift, "Bloody... flipping power coupling..." she continued muttering under her breath. Clearly agitated, most people knew how not to talk and just get out of her way.

---Intelligence Office---

Jon had been distracted since his return to the ship, he was looking over the message he'd gotten a couple of days before and was completely oblivious to the captain's message. He wanted to speak with the captain when the time was appropriate.

Marina had noticed that Riley seemed distracted, she offered a polite smile as she looked toward him. “Is everything alright Lieutenant?”

Job snapped back into the moment, "What? sorry...uh..did you need something"

“No Sir, I was just checking you were alright” Marina smiled warmly. “You seemed a million miles away.”

Maia called for Mr. Riley over the intercom.

=/\= Mr. Riley I want you to accompany us down to the Commodore's office for a mission briefing. Bring T'Plana'Hath with you. Transporter room 1 at 1300 hours =/\=Sterling ordered.

"This isn't a good time, did the Captain need me or something?" Jon tried to shake the haze of the last few days combined with the news that was in the letter.

T'Plana-hath was sitting in the intelligence center, pulling up data and constructing a three-dimensional construct of a ship, reviewing it against intelligence data she had received and had on hand. She was deep in thought and had been working for the past fourteen hours. She knew they were arriving at Starbase 50; she began thinking of what contacts she may have at Starbase 50. She knew she was also to meet Jedyt, who was stationed at Starbase 50 as a linguist.

——— Bridge ———

Still muttering, Sheena turned and looked at Maia, "Damned power taps, 4 out of 5 just blew out without any warning I'm gonna have to talk with base engineering and see give them a piece of mind," she said exasperated.

"4 out of 5, we will need to replace those, before we can get underway," Maia said. "The question is why did they blow?" Maia added.

"Don't know why or how, but we are taking great pains as to what the cause might be," Sheena answered.

Rick glanced up a moment and leaned down, removing something from under his console, held it up. It looked like an isolinear chip. "Have you tried one of these? It's a power conversion governor. Takes in the charge and then throttles it down to acceptable levels to distribute out."

"Sort of like a power buffer, will it work?"

"It should," Rick looked to Sheena.

"If Rick says it should, then I trust him at his word. He has never steered me in the wrong direction ever," Sheena replied, smiling at Rick.

"Alright, Sheena, get it fixed, the away team and I will beam down to the commodore's office for our mission briefing."

"Ladies and Gentlemen you're with me," Maia said.

"Mr. O'Carroll you have the bridge," Maia said

"Aye Captain." Lt. O'Carroll replied.
