Mission: Shore Leave
Location: Bridge USS Leto NCC-80916
Timeline: 239512.09

Captain's Log Stardate 239512.09

The crew had reported back to the Leto and we are preparing to get underway. The Leto has been on the ground for over three weeks. Commander Toran has successfully reignited the warp core. We are just awaiting the final prelaunch checks before we lift off. We will be returning to starbase 55. I am eager to begin a new assignment. No one has reported anything strange. The ship and crew are fully operational. I am anticipating an event-free journey to starbase 55 where we will also drop off the refugees from the Roosevelt. Sterling Maia A, Captain, Commanding Leto.

-Bridge-

Maia sat in her command chair awaiting the completion of the final prelaunch checklist.

She glanced over at Commander Blake, but he seems just as quiet as he was at last night's final celebration. Something was bothering him, but for now, he seemed as tight-lipped as an Aldeberon clam shell.

"Alright, let's get this ship back into space. Let's button her up, Commander." Maia ordered.

Ryan gave Maia a nod as he activated the shipwide announcement circuit. "All hands secure the landing watch and set the manoeuvring watch. All departments report when prepared for launch." He monitored the display screen as divisions and departments begin reporting readiness status.

She turned towards Lieutenant Gibbs.

"Mr Gibbs Tactically speaking, are we free and clear of any vessels in orbit?" The Captain asked.

Rick nodded, "Everything across my board is green and we're clear from vessels."

"Helm tie-in anti-gravity pods to the structural integrity field."

"Aye Captain, AG pods tied into structural integrity field."

=/\=Engineering, what's your status down there=/\=

=/\=Bridge this is Lieutenant Moynahan, Commander Toran is indisposed. We are 5 by 5 down here, you have full power at your discretion=/\=

"I do hope there have been no security incidents. Havri how are our refugees doing,?"

Havri replied, " Me too, I want a nice quiet trip to Starbase 50. And some real R&R. I just want to find a place and have a quiet picnic in a wide open field with nothing happening. But peace and quiet Captain. All refugees are settled in and resting quietly. The ones needing medical treatment are in Sick Bay and the others have been assigned quarters."

"All stations report status" Maia ordered.

"Intelligence here, all accounted for and ready to go." Jon shifted in his office chair, the letter on his screen becoming a distraction again.

Belbre reported all ship's security teams were standing by and that everything is ready for takeoff.

Isabelle stepped out of the turbo lift and walked across to her seat, “The Counselling department is ready to go Captain.

"Operations five by five Captain," Lieutenant O'Carroll reported.
Maria stood in the storerooms and tapped her combadge =/\= Everything stored and ready Captain,=/\= replied Maria as she had finished her task of making sure everything was secure, and that her department was secure before heading back to the bridge.

=/\= Sterling to Sickbay, Doctor Hendon are you all set to get underway =/\= Robert said

=/\= Everything is prepared, Captain. We are ready to go.=/\=

- MCO Office -

Karyn returned to her office, not the same as when she had left, this Omicron Delta planet was an annoying anomaly, but she was thankful that it was over, she sat behind her desk, opened a drawer, and pulled out a bottle of Bajoran Spring Wine and a glass and poured herself a drink and wondered if this ever happened to her sister.

- Diplomatic Office -

Tanger arrived in his office to get back into the routine of verifying documents and gathering the intelligence provided for pending diplomatic events. He had notification of two upcoming diplomatic events that were requesting his presence and then one seminar that he would like to attend. He continued to work and review all that came in from Starfleet and the Federation and sorted out all the vital data. He was glad to be back on the ship and ready to see what awaited him in the future as the crew prepared for the next mission.

- Parade Field -

Sgt Saul Humphries was drilling his squad in close-order drills. The first Sergeant was going to lead the whole company in small unit tactics a bit later in the afternoon. Their precision was flawless. Saul was happy with his people. He was also anxious to get on to their new mission.

- Bridge -

All prelaunch checks were completed, and engineering reported they were good to go.

"Helm, lift-off, and engage gravitational support systems. Thrusters on full." The captain ordered.

The Leto gracefully lifted up off the ground and held steady until they were 500 feet off the ground.

"Helm engages the impulse engines ahead 1/4 and retracts landing struts, advise when we reach orbit.

"Aye captain 1/4 impulse power, landing struts retracted, gaining altitude, rapidly," Helm responded.

The ride was just a little bumpy but not bad at all. Modern structural and dampening field generators were truly a marvel to behold.

Maia turned to Ryan.

"Looks like it will be smooth sailing all the way home," Maia remarked.

Ryan glanced at Maia with a hopeful nod of his head. "Let's hope so Captain."

"We have successfully inserted the Leto into a standard orbit, Captain," The helmsman replied.

"Excellent, then set a course for Starbase 55," Maia ordered.

"Mr. Gibbs anything on sensors,"?

"We're not really far enough out to get much more than we already have to be honest," Rick answered.

"Course set Captain", Replied the helmsman.

"Good engage at warp 5."

The Leto warped out of orbit. Omicron Delta receding in the viewscreen rapidly.
