| Personal History | Marina was born in Jo' Kala in the Musilla Province on Bajor as her parents were assigned there at that time. She was one of twins but shortly after birth she was kidnapped, no demands were ever made of her parents and she was never found even after an extensive and prolonged search. Left on the steps of an orphanage on an outlying Federation world a month later, Marina was taken in and raised there until a Betazoid couple on shoreleave from their ship fostered, and eventually adopted her. Raised on Betazed Marina grew up amongst the early beginnings of the Rixian Caliphate, her parents being Starfleet Officers as well as Caliphate believers she grew up used to the routine of being part of Starfleet, as well as part of a growing ‘cult.’ Once she became old enough it seemed only logical that Marina would join the Academy, but the onslaught of her powerful Betazoid abilities kicking in meant remaining on Betazed to learn control first. She spent two full years there mastering her abilities before finally applying to Starfleet Academy. Marina was a dedicated student, well liked by both her peers and the other students. She immediately showed an aptitude for Diplomacy and Intelligence, her Betazoid abilities coming to the fore in both situations. She also showed an aptitude in the medical field earning herself a field medic merit award. She graduated four years later with honours and started her Starfleet career. During her time at the Academy Marina met Ryan Blake, the two fell very much in love. She had no idea Ryan had plans to propose, so when she received news that she was to be assigned to a top secret infiltration assignment that would take her away from him, she hadn’t the heart to tell him. Instead she unhappily left in the quiet of the early hours. Her assignment was to Infiltrate the Rixian Caliphate. With her adoptive parents becoming full time members of the Riixian Caliphate, Marina has been taught and trained to use her natural abilities in ways that were never intended. In the last few years Marina’s beliefs have been sorely tested as the Caliphate aimed to twist her against the Federation and everything she used to believe in, as much as she believes that Betazoids should stand up and fight for the betterment of Betazed, she has had to remind herself that the Federation is where she belongs. As part of her cover she was suspended from her duties in Starfleet. Like other women in the Caliphate, Marina was chosen to join the ever growing harem of women the Caliphate leader surrounds himself with. Every one of his women is chosen for their abilities, to create a stronger, more powerful next generation. The children of which never leave their father’s side, he keeps them seperated from their mother’s, except when the mother is with him. Marina has a six month old child she’s being kept away from, her goal is to get her daughter back. Marina has recently been awarded the title of “Daughter of Betazed” and the Tanger family restored as part of the Fifth House of Betazed. |
