Mission:
Double Dealing
Location: Somewhere in Tritonian space
Timeline: 239603.31
Captains log Stardate 239603.31
The starship Leto has detected an object adrift in Tritonian space, by configuration, a starship. Nova class. no distress call, only the ship's automated disaster beacon. It's registered as the USS Calypso. The Calypso is not registering normal energy output. I have ordered the Leto out of warp as we move into the area to investigate. The Leto is currently at Red Alert. There is an abnormally high amount of subspace interference in the area.
Sterling Maia A, Captain, Commanding Starship Leto

Maia was in her customary place in the center seat.
"Approach course Mr. Thornehill," Maia ordered.
"Aye, Captain, slowing to impulse," Max said, glancing at the view screen, but paying more attention to the surrounding space, already thinking how they could make a fast exit if need be. He didn't like derelict ships hanging around, especially when he was supposedly on it.
"Sciences, I want a full sensor sweep of the surrounding area, what's causing the subspace interference and are there any ships in the area,"
"Yes, ma'am," she said. She pressed a few buttons on her screen, and then looked up. "Sending it to the viewscreen," she said.
Maia looked at the screen the subspace interference was coming from 11 mk 4 at a distance of 3 million kilometers. It appeared to be a damaged subspace jammer. Possibly sent from the Calypso itself as part of their defense...Still, pirate activity was quite high in this area too.
The Calypso hung out there adrift, dead in space, even from this distance the ship looked battered and beaten her port nacelle was half blown off and extensive damage was done to her primary and secondary hull.
"Mr. Blake, I want to know what happened to her," Maia said.
"Aye Captain." Ryan stepped over to the Mission Ops Station and brought the lateral sensors online. A detailed scan of the USS Calypso showed numerous hull breaches on decks 3, 4, 8, 10, and 12. The localized interference prevented determining if any life signs were on the ship. He transferred the findings to his PADD and approached Maia in the center chair. "Hull breaches on five decks, life signs undetermined. The only thing I know for certain is that the ship was in battle with an undetermined enemy."
"Havri, I want you to assemble an away team, survey only to make sure it's safe, then we will prepare a damage control team."
"Roger that Captain, she hit the communications button. Security Team Alphpa to room 1 asap. The team is ready to go when you are Commander. Might I recommend we use environmental suits as a precaution? " Replied Belbre.
Ryan looked at the view screen for a moment before turning to Maia. "I would like to lead the away team if you don't mind."
"Actually, I had you in mind for that Commander," Maia said.
"If you see me, tell me I say hi," Max said over his shoulder.
Ryan looked at Colin at the Operations console. "Lieutenant Barth grab your EVA suit and some diagnostic equipment." He tapped his comm badge. =/\=Lieutenant T'Plana'Hath, report to Transporter Room One in EVA gear and bring a portable decryption and data file storage device."
=/\=Understood.=/\= T'Plana stood up from her station in the SCIF and made her way towards transporter room one, stopping only long enough to acquire an EVA suit, a Type-3 phaser rifle, her personal Intelligence Tricorder, and PaDD with the required and highly modified decryption and file storage programs.
Colin grabbed his EVA suit and an operations and engineering crew case. He started to follow the others.
From the bridge’s engineering station, Sayori analyzed her own readings of the Calypso. “The interference is preventing an accurate analysis of the ship’s systems,” she reported. “But I’m not detecting power spikes or anything else that would signal a danger beyond the lack of atmosphere. I’ll have a damage control party ready to make local scans and stabilize the ship once we get the all clear.” She looked at the hulk on the screen and shook her head. “Shame. So pretty. No ship deserves that treatment.”
Max looked over his shoulder again. "Shame more people don't take into account a ship's....aesthetic." He paused, looking at the Chief Engineer for the first time. Something was tickling his memory, but he shook his head and pushed it aside, turning back to his board as he brought them around for a poorly-named "beauty pass" of the ship, taking a visual account of the damage.
Rick finally made it to the Bridge, having had to taken a few personal days while they were in warm did for him what it seemed like he needed. Excusing the Ensign at Tactical, logging in and catching himself up on the situation. Giving a pause a moment like Spiderman's spidey sense was going off for a second. "Something doesn't feel right...like, my type of not feel right."
"Do you have a hunch Mr. Gibbs?" Maia asked.
=/\= Bridge to Engineering, We are going to need a damage control party over on the Calypso can you spar anyone Commander Summers=/\=
=/\=Understood Bridge our team will wait for the ll clear before beaming over =/\=.
=/\= Bridge to Sickbay, Dr. Griffith, we are going to need medical personnel for an away team to the Calypso, Can you spare anyone?=/\=
=/\= Absolutely. I'll have a team ready in five. Griffith out.=/\= Gwen said.
