| Personal History | Born and raised in Wales, UK, Earth, she's the oldest of six. She'd been interested in science since she was a child and as she got through grade school, she became interested in the human body. She'd decided she wanted to join Starfleet before she knew she wanted to study medicine. She was entranced by the idea of traveling to new planets, experiencing new cultures and meeting new species, and signed up as soon as she was of age. In her first year, during a break from school, she was involved in a pub fight near her hometown, initiated by two of her brothers. After it was over, she began treating the wounded, and found she enjoyed putting them back together and keeping them from succumbing to their wounds. She decided to apply for the medical track and changed her coursework. She applied to Starfleet medical school and began studying xenobiology, finding her enjoyment of anatomy and medical curiosities extended to other species. After serving on the USS Niger and USS Topeka as a surgeon, she took the opportunity for upward mobility and began seeking opportunities to advance both rank and position. |
