The Thorion Conundrum Mission Brief
Location: La grange point between Thorion 3 and the Asteroid belt.

"Captain's Log Stardate 239405.03
USS Leto has reached the La grange point between Thorion-3 and the Asteroid field. The Thorion Ballista Bellerophon has picked up at least half of the away team we sent Thorion-3 four days ago. Commander Blake is reported to be in rough shape but otherwise unharmed. according to Thoron intelligence, the Orion Syndicate and the Riixian Caliphate have an uneasy alliance. This bodes well for our chief of security who hasn't been seen or heard from in a week. There have been no hostage demands but I know for a fact that the Riixian's don't have what they want. The Thorian's report that several attempts have been made to enter the asteroid field but apparently they are mined with anti starship weaponry. Patrols are now being flown over Thorion 3 and peace has been resumed."
"The Miners are now fully protected from hostile incursions. We have 50 Ballistae and 75 Javelins at our disposal. It is an overwhelming force. However, the free citizens of Thorion-4 protect their territory as jealously as Tholian's do it seems. I do hope that our new chief medical officer doesn't have too many casualties to deal with. Dr Hendon is a recent transfer from the starship Cygnus. The man couldn't have had better timing getting here. Strategically I really could use Mr Blake right about now. The Thorion's are setting up a Tachyon sensor net to prevent cloaked ships from leaving the area. Thorion's penchant for technology is impressive unlike their Orion counterparts, their tech is well researched and state of the art. Some of it like the Paragravitic drive is even ahead of Federation tech. Mr Barton has come up with a plan to infiltrate the defences by piloting a smaller craft through the asteroid field to take out the automated control system. the ECM is very high in the local area. However, we are developing a way to overcome it."

Maia stared at the viewscreen they were rapidly approaching Thorion-3.
"Mr Barton reduce speed to 1/2 impulse power and prepare to rendezvous with the Bellerophon." The Captain ordered.
'Aye Captain" Barton replied.
"Mr Llewellyn, anything on sensors?" Maia asked.
"A large number of asteroids, ironically they are interfering with sensor scans," He said.
"Security maintain Red Alert. This could very well develop into a combat situation." Maia
Eretria already had phasers on standby and shields were currently at 75% to keep power reserves available for weapons and propulsion. "Aye Captain all tactical systems are ready to deploy at your command."
"Very good Ensign."
Sheena had been keenly watching and surveying everyone at their post's. The situation was somewhat tense and as the captain did say, it could escalate very quickly, so what was needed was a cool head and tact. "So far so good Captain," she said carefully.
Hendon could feel the XO watching him. As CMO he was expected to spend some time on the bridge. But in truth, he would rather be out of the spotlight. Back in Sickbay keeping his eye on the patients or looking over medical records. There was always someone who tried to get away without a medical. Dispute what Starfleet rules and regulations said. Luckily the medical console was almost the same one on the USS Cygnus. Unfortunately, he had spent very little time on the bridge then. So he was a little rusty. But as his mother said. Practice makes perfect.
A message on the medical consoles monitor. Told Robert he was needed in sickbay. So once his replacement arrived he rushed off the bridge.
Captain sensors are detecting the arrival of the Bellerophon, they are sending a standard hail.
"Good please put it up on Screen. Maia said.
"This is Captain Maia Sterling of the Starship Leto, We send greetings to our Thorion Allies".
The screen resolved into the image of an Orion Female.
"Greetings Captain Sterling I am Sub Bashir Kormia of the Thorion System Patrol. We have two of your crew. Lieutenant Ryan Blake, and Ensign Dorn. They were rescued off of a slaver ship not too far from here. If you send me your coordinates I will have them beamed aboard." Kormia said
Maia nodded at the Conn officer and the coordinates were sent.
"Thank you Sub Bashir Kormia. Your service honours us". Maia replied.
"Captain Sterling I am also sending you the coordinates of the staging area, We have completed our tachyon sensor net, so their cloaking devices will be useless," Kormia added.
"Good we will set a course immediately, Sterling out," Maia replied.
"Helm set a course for the staging area 3/4 impulse power."
=/\= Sickbay prepare to receive two crewmen I want them checked over, Sterling out =/\= Maia sent.
=/\= Understood Hendon out.=/\= Robert replied as he just entered Sickbay.
Maia turned to Sheena.
"If you want to check on Mr Blake now is the time to do it."
Sheena looked at Maia, "Ryan? Hurt? Yes captain right away. Thank you," she said and quickly made for the turbo lift and sickbay. All types of things were going through her heat by now. The welfare of the two crewmen was important over her personal feelings for Ryan at the moment. However, her fear was greater for Ryan, as she did not know the extent of his injuries.
Senior Chief Keitel stepped onto the bridge and crossed to stand next to Maia, handing over a PADD as he reached her side. "Petty Officer Tanner and Crewmen Avie will be onboard within the hour Captain. They got a little banged up in the conflict with the Orion assault shuttle, but the Thorion medics report they are both conscious and ambulatory."
The Leto continued to cruise to the marshalling point.
Ahead were 75 Thorion Ballistae and Javelins. The very ships she was promised seemed like overkill but the idea was to set up a tachyon detection grid to prevent cloaked ships from escaping.
=/\=Bridge to Lt Somers, are you ready to insert the SAR team =/\= Maia asked.
Looking puzzled as this was the first time she had heard of this =/\= Somers here Captain what is the S.A.R team going to be needed for? =/\= Karyn asked, but even while she was waiting for a response she has the marines prepare for our S.A.R Operation.
"Several of our senior crew members have been captured and we are about to launch an assault, We will need an extraction team." the Captain responded.
=/\= Acknowledge Captain, S.A.R team will be assembled in five, Somers out =/\= Karyn responded and signed off.
Captain, the Thorion's are sending their second wave in.
"Follow them but keep your distance" Maia ordered.
