Once the introductions were done and all the delegates had joined them, Ambassador Langley adjourned to the main banquet hall of the Leto.

The Honor guard had been impressive, all officers were in dress uniforms as well as the Thorion delegation. This was a formal ambassadorial event one of many that the Leto would over see.

The food and spirits were top of the line.

Maia was seated between Ambassador Langley and Bashar Jo'lan, who was an impressive figure of a man at 7 and a 1/2 feet tall. His aids were interspersed between her senior officers, the best Starfleet had to offer. They were discussing the site for the new embassy on Thorion-4.

As the feast went on the discussion turned to the away mission to establish the embassy.

"Mr Blake has been working on the away team assignments, have you completed them?" Maia asked.

Ryan nodded. "More or less. I will be taking an away team to Thorion Three for a geological survey. Lieutenant Commander Toran will be commanding the mission group to establish the embassy on Thorion Four."

"Who have you chosen for your team"? Maia asked.

Ryan had given the matter considerable thought. "Obviously my sister as she is a geologist. I would also like Lieutenant Dougherty. Her familiarity with dilithium means a solid background in geology and her engineering knowledge would come in handy for assessing mining sites." He paused thoughtfully for a moment. "I would also think assigning two persons from either security or the marine detachment would be prudent."

"May I also suggest Mr Barton who is an excellent pilot." Maia stated.

Sheena walked in sporting her dress whites and walked over to where Ryan was just finishing mentioning her name. "I heard my name and embassy all in the same sentence. Care to enlighten me....," she said smiling.

"Hello number one, yes you will be leading the away team to build the embassy on Thorion 4, Minister Jol'an has set aside 20 tessipates of land to build it. You will need to coordinate with engineering on power supply as to what you will need. and of course choose a team." The Captain stated.

Sheena swallowed hard before she opened her mouth. "Embasy, build, team, yes well....um security I can handle with two or three security personnel, as for building, a few engineers from here and the bulk from Thorion 4. As for power, a few portable generators until we get the power on from the source on the planet. If we need bulding supplies we can manufacture it from our replicators I think, but most of what we will need should be available on the surface," Sheena croaked. It was a surprise to her as she swore not to use her ability to read thoughts unless ordered.

Lt Brannon had her security guard set and walked around the room double checking everything. She used her telepathic powers to see if anything was going on.

*Lt Brannon felt something was amiss as if someone or something was watching her but was having trouble locating it.*

After the attack on her she was extremely vigilant in all security matters.

"Lt Brannon over here, have you met our new CDO?" Maia asked.

Lt Brannon came over to Captain Sterling.

" No I have not had the pleasure yet. With everything going on. Nice to meet you sir. I hope our ship is comfortable to your liking.

Lt. Tanger may I introduce you to our chief of security Lt. Angelique Brannon. Ly Brannnon this is Lt Kasey Tanger of chief Diplomatic Officer." Maia said.

Lieutenant Tanger was seated with one of Bashar Jo'lan's aides and one of Langley's aides and really enjoying the senses they shared as well as the conversations that were being held at their table.

The aid Mr Talor was talking to Mr Tanger and telling him what he could expect from the liberated peoples of Thorion and some of the history involved including the revolt against the dominion. Of course Mr.Talor was over seven feet tall like most Orion males but he was very disciplined and enlightened for a member of his race.

"Tell me Mr. Tanger have you negotiated many treaties in your time"? Talor asked.

"I have done two negotiations when the ambassadors I was working for took ill after the first session of each meeting." Tanger replied. "I was able to fully pick up where they left off and go with it on their behalf, merely because I was that in tune with the process they had laid out before they started the talks."

"Very impressive, have you seen any combat, Mr. Tanger?" Talor asked, trying to size the man up.

"Have I seen any combat? Well that is interesting to say the least." Tanger replied. "I once had to draw my phaser to hold back an angry Tellarite at the Andorian embassy on Vulcan as he was a little to intoxicated and did not know where he was, so he thought we were invading his home. Otherwise I do my best to avoid hostilities. But I have passed my marksmanship course only missing to shots. But I believe I would hold my own if in a combat situation. Have you seen any combat situations?" Mr Tanger asked.

"Yes I have seen much combat, I was a mere quint when I joined up and am now an adjunct Bashar. A secundo. Roughly equivalent to a Lieutenant Colonel in your Marine Corps. I was in the contingent that helped drive off the Dominion from our space. I have indeed seen much of the horrors of war. I am delighted that you of the Federation are here to help us enter into a time of peace and relative prosperity for both our peoples. Now that the treaty between our nations is signed we can begin the healing process." Talor said.

"Well, I am honored to be a part of this historic moment for your people as well as on behalf of the Federation." Tanger replied. "I am sure we can make our two cultures work together for a very long time to come. I am curious about the establishment of an embassy in Federation space for your people to get more involved in our joint ventures. Do you think that there will be any movement for that sort of relationship?"

"I believe there will be movement in that direction. It is my desire and the desire of the council that we petition the Federation for full membership status. It is for this reason that you are here so that we can share out common interests. We realize these things take time. It is our wish that you learn about our culture and heritage so that we can enter a wider galactic community as contributors and equals." Talor replied.

Samantha arrived at the banquet hall wearing a tasteful cocktail dress. She spotted her brother and nodded at him before looking about for one other officer in particular. She was interested in talking with Lieutenant Dougherty about the upcoming survey mission to Thorion Three.

Command Senior Chief Keitel had been standing over by the open bar nursing a synthale while observing the event and listening to random bits of conversation. He took a sip from his mug before strolling over to where Ambassador Langley and the ship's Senior Command Staff were. He nodded to Maia, Sheena and Ryan in turn before directing his gaze to Maia. "Captain, I would like to join Commander Toran's team. What with Lieutenant Blake here going to Thorion Three, I believe my knowledge of the sector's strategic importance could prove useful to the XO and the Ambassador."

"I completely agree Senior Chief, your knowledge of the sector will prove invaluable. Commander Toran will add you to her team. MSgt Sergeant Hex and a squad of marines will also be joining you as well as the Ambassador."

"Indeed, I welcome the added help. You will be an invaluable addition to our merry group, Sheena said smiling. oOWhat am I getting into?Oo she thought.

"Don't look so nervous Commander I don't bite...too often." Henry said to Commander Toran.

Once the banquet ended the Starship Leto was pulled into the Throrion stationvia a tractor beam.
