Captains Log Stardate 239508.13

The Leto has been at Starbase 51 for over a month now debriefing Starfleet on all the defensive systems information we brought back for the El'Aurians. Our newly minted chief of marines 2nd Lieutenant Saul Humphries has completed his Officer Training School. Kayrn Somers has disembarked. and Starfleet has seen fit to give us a new assignment. The USS Leto is tasked with a Diplomatic mission between the world of Farius and its moon Triton. Triton is seeking independence however hostilities have broken out between warring clans. Farius is a subtropical planet and Triton is a water world. As a Federation member world, the Farius regime has asked for Federation assistance in brokering peace. However, there is a twist of events happening. Orion Pirates have found huge deposits of Trilithium deep under the oceans of Triton and have been sabotaging any efforts at a peaceful resolution and have kidnapped the Federation ambassador. It doesn’t look like any treaty signing will be possible unless the crew of the Leto can free the ambassador and stop the Orion pirates while investigating a Double Murder and stopping the hostilities.

Captain Sterling and her senior officers had been briefed on the new mission at Starbase 51.

"Status report all stations, report," Maia ordered.

Sheena was walking from station to station watching as Maia requested the standard status of operations. From where she stood, "It appears that we are ready for our new mystery mission. Rescue the Federation Ambassador, get the peace treaty done, and stop the Orion pirates again, Sheena said as she sat next to Maia.

"Science is good," Paisley piped up. "Probes are working excellently, the atmosphere is calm. My Astrometrics specialist says we're clear to depart for a full week out," she said. "The Council has sent me the information my department will need on these planets, I have forwarded them to you, Captain Sterling."

Hendon usually stayed below when Leto started on her new missions. But today he needed to check something on the bridge. So he was able to give his report in person.

“ Medical is all ready and waiting ma’am.” He reported.

"Sterling to engineering, Lt. Slesinger, what's the status of the engines?" Maia asked.

Engines are five by five captain, all systems operation warp drive standing by," Laura Slesinger replied.

Ryan stepped onto the bridge. He wasn't due to be on duty until the next watch, but he had made it a habit of being present on the bridge during departure from Port calls and planetary orbits. He also wanted to stay close to Sheena as it was only a matter of weeks until she entered the third and final trimester of her pregnancy.

Belbre checked her systems and smiled. The upgrades were working perfectly. "All weapons and tactical systems are up and running. Also, all upgrades are working perfectly. Star Fleet did some new upgrades on all the systems, Captain," Havri said.

"Good to know," Sterling replied. The Leto had gotten a substantial weapons system upgrade as well as shield improvements.

Eritrea was at the Tactical Two console reviewing the upgrade specifications. She crossed over to the Tactical One station and looked at her Department Head. "The performance projections on the tactical systems are outstanding."

Chances are we will be testing them out in combat, unfortunately. Still, it is good to know we have new options, " Maia said.

Belbre replied, " I kept the upgrades quiet till they finished doing them. It improves the accuracy by 90% and we will also have a quicker reaction when firing the weapons. Which will give us a bigger advantage in a fight. Plus shield strength was increased by 60% as well.

I am glad you like them Eritea. I stayed onboard to be part of the upgrades project for the first 2 days of our leave."

Eritrea knew her Department Head was extraordinarily exacting when it came to Security procedures and Tactical protocols.


Rick wasn't particularly doing much at the moment, standing at the back of the Bridge with a PaDD in hand, reading over something. Whatever it was, it was really interesting to him since it was holding his attention.

Mr. Tanger was on leave, he had returned to Betazed about 4 days ago. Maia hated going into a combat situation without her Chief Engineer. Maia thought.

"Ah, Ryan how is your wife?" Maia asked.

Ryan gestured to Sheena as she went from station to station around the bridge. "She doesn't stop...ever. I have the feeling we will have to go to Risa when she has to go on medical leave for her final trimester. It's probably that or assign a security detail to ensure she relaxes."

“ I could have a word with her if you like Ryan. She is due a check-up with me tomorrow.” Hendon said

Ryan gave Doctor Hendon an appreciative nod. "That would be great Doctor and much appreciated."

“ That’s OK,” Hendon replied

"Mr Gibbs please contact Starbase control and inform them we are ready for departure," Maia asked.

"Aye, ma'am." Rick pushed from his leaning position and took over the Secondary Tactical station. Tapping a few times before again and then looking up. "Moorings are now free of station keeping, and we're cleared for departure at our discretion."


Lieutenant Barth had made his way from Starbase 51 to the deck of where his quarters would be on the ship. He quickly dropped his stuff off in his quarters and tapped his comm badge.

"Captain Sterling," he said, "This is your new Chief of Operations reporting in Ma'am."

"Lieutenant Barth WElcome aboard please take your station."

Maia turned to her helmsman.

Helm take us out 250 KPH out of the dock then 1/4 impulse power.

The Leto left spacedock.

Captain, we have cleared spacedock and we are free and clear to navigate, Lieutenant Peters said.

Navigator set course for Farius prime.

"Course laid in Captain," The Navigator replied.

Take us to Farius Prime Mr. Peters warp factor six", Maia ordered.

The Leto shot ahead and disappeared in a rainbow kaleidoscope of star lines.
