Location: Lounge, Crew Mess, Diplomatic Conference Hall

Ships Christmas Party

Decorations are up booze is paid for. Come one come all!

Merry Christmas Display any talents you may have.

Brannon showed up for the party. And found she was the first there. She got a drink and waited for others to arrive.

"Maia walked in Hi Angelina Merry Christmas. What are you drinking?" Maia asked.

Next Ambassador Langley showed up.

"Merry Christmas ladies," he said to Maia and Angelina.

"Merry Christmas Mr. Ambassador", Maia said.

"Please call me Henry, I'll have a Saurian brandy please".

The waitress got him a brandy and he chatted amiably with the two senior officers.

'Brannon replied, "Brandy sounds nice. I will have that Captain. Nice to speak to you Ambassador. I will be in charge of any security you may need."

"Well thank you young lady." The Ambassador replied.

Maia poured a saurian brandy for both of them.

"Here ya go." Maia said.

Thank you Captain. May I pour you a drink?

"Absolutely" Maia said.

Nisha was walking around the room seeing and hearing the holiday music as she headed for the Bar and ordered a glass of White wine,and asked the Bartender for the bottle too. Nisha took her glass and bottle to the nearest table as she was grinning at others and sat down enjoying her wine and looking at the pretty Decorations to enjoy the Festivities and Decorations. She was trying to enjoy herself seeing other people around her on the table and nodded and grinned.

"Nisha welcome. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year." Maia said.

Nisha smiled” And you the same sir.” she said getting ready to look around or maybe head to the bar. “How are you enjoying yourself, Captain,” she told Maia still being respectful to her Superior officer with her being Captain.Nisha was trying to enjoy herself the best she can since others were doing the same.

"I am enjoying myself greatly, although the responsibilities far outweigh the privileges". Maia said.

Sheena walked into the party looking for Ryan. Not seeing him, she headed towards the table where the captain was. "Merry...um...Christmas?" she said questioningly.

"Hello Number one, Yes Christmas. Christmas (or the Feast of the Nativity) is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed primarily on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around my world. A feast central to the Christian liturgical year, it is preceded by the season of Advent or the Nativity Fast and initiates the season of Christmastide, which historically in the West lasts twelve days and culminates on Twelfth Night. It's also meant to usher in good cheer and brotherly love and is usually a season of gift exchanges to show how we feel about others in our circle of family and friends." The Captain explained.

"Care for a drink Number one?" Maia continued.

"Don't mind if I do." Sheena said.

Samantha and Ryan arrived together, spotting several officers already near the Captain's Table, they made their way over to greet those gathered there. Ryan nodded to Maia first. "Merry Christmas Captain Sterling." He looked at Sheena with an adoring smile. "You as well Sheena." He chose a more familiar behavior with Sheena as both were currently off duty and not in uniform. He gave Sheena a hug and gentle kiss on the cheek.

Samantha nodded at the people gathered around Maia's table, wishing each a Merry Christmas, but finally settling her gaze and grin on her brother and the ship's XO. "Nice to see my little brother finally loosen up a bit. Didn't think I would see a moment during this mission where he wouldn't be in his uniform."

"I was hoping Nick would show up we practiced a song. We we were planning on singing a duet for you all." Maia said.

"Perhaps you would like to dance Ryan?" Maia asked.

"It would be my pleasure Captain." Ryan turned to Sheena. "If you will excuse me for a moment." He took Maia's hand and led her out to the dance floor as recorded music played. He looked about as the lounge started filling up with people. "Great idea, having a Christmas party."

Ryan led Maia to the dance floor just as blue skies started playing.

"I see you are an accomplished dancer Ryan". Maia said pleasantly.,

Nick finally made it to the party. He strolled across the dance floor to Maia and Ryan. "Greetings. I hope you don't mind if I cut in Lieutenant." Ryan shook his head and let Nick take his place with Maia on the dance floor.

"I was wondering if you were going to show up Nick, glad you did. I hope you're ready for our duet." Maia said pleasantly.

Nick gave a wink and a sly grin. "I am quite ready dear Captain. What about you? Ready to stun the audience?"

"I am Nick, lets go get them." Maia said.

Nick led Maia to the stage as the recorded music wound down. The band stepped up and took their places on stage. "Good evening everyone. I would like to announce that we have a special treat for you all. One of the ship's officers has an incredible talent that she has consented to share with all of you. So...without further adeau allow me to present Captain Maia Sterling who will join me on stage to sing an old Christmas favorite." He extended a hand to Maia to join him up on the stage.

A special treat for the crew of the Leto. I hope you know this one. The holographic band started playing.

Maia sang the first part Nick sang the part in parenthesis

I really can't stay (but baby, it's cold outside)
I've got to go away (but baby, it's cold outside)
This evening has been (been hoping that you'd drop in)
So very nice (I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice)

My mother will start to worry (beautiful, what's your hurry?)
And father will be pacing the floor (listen to the fireplace roar)
So really I'd better scurry (beautiful, please don't hurry)
Well maybe just a half a drink more (put some records on while I pour)

The neighbours might think (baby, it's bad out there)
Say, what's in this drink? (No cabs to be had out there)
I wish I knew how (your eyes are like starlight now)
To break this spell (I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell)

I ought to say "no, no, no sir" (mind if I move in closer?)
At least I'm gonna say that I tried (what's the sense of hurtin' my pride?)
I really can't stay (baby, don't hold out)
Ah but it's cold outside (baby, it's cold outside).. Nick and Maia finished there duet.

There was a generous mix of clapping. I think most were surprised that Maia could sing.

"Feel free to share any talents you might have". Maia said.

Ryan was standing next to Sheena. He gave her a curious look. "I didn't know the Captain could sing? Did you?"

"Nope, I did not", she said smiling.

Brannon applauded for the song, then went to the computer console and lowered the temperature to 30 deg F. This should set the mood. As she came back to the others.

"Burr that made it a lot colder...Whose playing with the environmental controls"? Maia asked.

Brannon smiled, "I am guilty of that Captain. Thought it would add some mood to the party and make it more like on Earth when the Christmas celebration occurs." As she reaches Captain Sterling and the others a mug of warm brady.

Sheena was about to surprise everyone, something she learned and still does quietly. Walking to the wall panel of the holodeck, she added to the program a medium sized ice rink. "Um.....please can I intrude on the festivities for a moment? While on Earth, I learned ice skating ballet style. I have a little something returned for this occassion", she said, flipping the program into existence.

Lights around the the rink dimmed and a spotlight hit Sheena who now was donned in a ballet outfit. The music to Swan Lake started and Sheena gridded over the ice like a graceful deer. Her movements to the music were fluid and in time with the music. It was clear that she had a talent for dancing on ice. She danced on until the piece ended and she came to a stop on the ice.

"Well done Number one! Nick would you like to ice skate with me?" Maia asked.
