Dispersal

Mission:
The Riixian Insurection
Location: Bridge
Timeline: TBD
Ryan stood with the small group of officers at the aft Operations Two and Science One consoles. He was hoping the latest plan to eliminate the effects of the psionic weapon the Caliphate employed would prove useful.
Samantha felt nervous. Her confidence when she had postulated using crystallized minerals found in the psionic amplifier devices to create a prism dispersal system had seemed workable. Now she wasn’t so sure. "We need to seed the ionosphere of Betazed with the crystals. That should prevent the resonators on the moons from affecting those on the planet."
"What should the crystallization concentration be, Dr. Blake? We can use the probes to deliver plenty of crystals to wherever we want, the Betazed atmosphere is currently clear, no storm or weather activity noted and the jet stream seems to be blowing where we want. We can deliver the crystals to any point we want too, I recommend seeding at coordinates 216 MK 11. They will blow and disperse where we want them to. It should degrade whatever psionic signal the caliphate is sending by at least 65 percent. that in conjunction with the shields should limit the effects of psionic control. It should be enough to stop any heads from exploding certainly. Mr. O'Carroll reported.
Samantha initiated the computer simulation she had developed and quickly looked over the results of the test. She would have wished to have more time to replay the simulation for optimal effectiveness, but she knew there wasn't time. She transmitted the necessary data to the Ops console. "You should be receiving target points and concentration parameters now."
"Receiving target information now, programming dispersal drones. this should only take about ten minutes, you really should get into your dress uniforms and get to the transporter room." Steve said.
Ryan shook his head as he gestured at the center seat. 'Captain and XO are off the ship along with most of the senior staff. I am in command until one of them gets back."
Samantha made a face. "Diplomatic parties are notoriously boring and pretentious affairs. I'll pass."
"Your both right diplomatic affairs usually are tedious but they are also very important, and Commander Blake is in command until the captain returns," Steve said.
"So what are your orders Commander?" Steve asked.
Ryan glanced at his sister before turning to Steve once again. "It would be best for Samantha to remain aboard and monitor the dispersal cloud." He returned to the center seat. "Lieutenant O'Carroll, monitor sensors, and communications. I don't want any last-ditch efforts of the Caliphate to endanger the delegation on Betazed."
"Commander the probes are ready for launch. I'm on it." Steve replied.
Ryan nodded. "Launch the probes and contact Captain Sterling to let her know. Start a track on every vessel in sensor range. If there is anything in the air or in orbit without a pre-approved flight plan, I want to know about it."
Maria replied, " Copy that Sir! Probes Launched and a coded message was sent to the Captain," as her fingers danced over her console, as she knew full well that until she had spoken with her Father about the bomb that had been placed in her head in person, she was very worried that he might have become compromised.
Lieutenant O'Connell was at his station. He was on his sensors., Commander, The dispersion proceeding on the projected path, the psionic signal has been attenuated by the scattering field by 78 percent.
Receiving a signal from Captain Sterling. "Well done, Leto!"
