The new Counsellor comes aboard

Mission: The Riixian Insurection
Location: Ready Room

Isabelle stepped off the transporter PADD her reaclimating cruise on the USS Hood had turned into a trip to her new ship, and first assignment as Chief Counsellor. Her things were being transported straight to her quarters, the only thing she was carrying was a PADD with her transfer orders. All she knew was the prior Chief Counsellor had met with an early demise, no doubt her new CO would fill her in.

Making her way to the bridge, Isabelle headed for the Captain’s ready room. She paused long enough to straighten her uniform before taking a deep breath and pressing the door chime.

"Enter" the Captain said.

Captain Sterling was in the ready room with Commander Toran, Executive Officer, Commander Blake, 2XO and Chief of Strategic Operations and Dr Hendon the Chief Medical Officer.

"Yes can I help you Lieutenant"?

Isabelle nodded politely to all those present before presenting her orders to Maia. “I’m Isabelle Raal, I’ve just been assigned here as your new Chief Counsellor.”

Ryan gave Isabella a return nod,but otherwise remained silent.

Robert looked up. The last counsellor had cured his twin children of constantly arguing. But had scared the two young children in the process. Giving them nightmares for the next week. He hoped this counsellor had a different approach.

"Welcome aboard Lieutenant Raal, do you have your orders and qualifications?" The Captain asked.

“Yes Captain, I do” Isabelle handed over the PADD containing her orders. “I’ve just returned to duty after two years of personal leave, and I’m ready to get back to my duties.”

Ryan stepped forward and offered a hand in greeting. "Welcome aboard Counselor. It is a privilege to meet you."

Isabelle smiled warmly as she returned the gesture, giving Ryan’s hand a polite shake. “Thank you Lieutenant...Blake, isn’t it? I make a point of looking over the records of those I’m going to be serving with. Just to familiarise myself with names and faces.”

Robert offered his hand next.

“ Welcome aboard Counsellor.” Hendon said

Isabelle turned slightly to greet Hendon, offering a warm smile as she shook his hand. “Always nice to meet a fellow member of the medical department doctor. I had plans to visit Sickbay next for my medical.”

" Good. I look forward to seeing you there." Robert said

"Dr. Hendon will be your supervisor as he is the most senior medical officer on board." Maia stated.

“Understood Captain” Isabelle nodded. “I’ve been catching up on the Leto’s mission details, as a half Betazoid matters that concern Betazed are naturally of importance to me.”

"A good percentage of this ship's crew is Betazoid." Maia said

Isabelle nodded. “So I understand Captain. I’d like to speak with the Caliphate members that were brought onboard, to try and assess them.”

Hendon looked over the padd he had brought with him.

" We have some in sickbay recovering from having their implants removed. Perhaps when you come in for your physical you could speak to them then. That is if the Captain gives you the go ahead of course." Robert said

Isabelle looked towards Maia. “Would that be alright with you Captain?”

That would be fine with me, some have expressed an interest in defecting.

Isabelle nodded. “In that case I’ll make a point of talking to those people. See if I can discern whether what they’re saying is a actually true.”

Robert tapped his padd. For some reason Isabelle’s health records had not come through.

“ That’s strange. For some reason Raal’s medical file has not come through.” He said.

“Then it’s a good job I have a copy.” Isabelle smiled warmly. “I’ll bring it to Sickbay with me.”

"I will let you get settled in Counseller if none of the others have more questions for you."

Maia looked at the assembled officers.

"Welcome aboard Lt Raal". Maia said.

"Dismissed".
