Mission: The Thorion Conundrum Mission Brief
Timeline: SD 39409.12 / 1320 hours

[ON]

Samantha was excited to be aboard the USS Leto. Most of her experience aboard Starfleet vessels had been aboard small Oberth-class vessels that had cramped quarters and virtually non-existent recreational facilities. She turned a corner and came to a dead end. She gave an exasperated sigh and turned around. The problem with actually getting to ride on a larger Starfleet vessel, one could get lost very easily, just like she was right now.

Samantha continued walking the corridor until she heard voices coming from a cross corridor just ahead. She sped up to a slow trot in hopes of getting the people to help her with directions. She rounded the corner to find an older gentleman and an attractive middle-aged woman in the middle of a conversation.

Hank glanced at the civilian attired Samantha as she came trotting up to himself and Maia. She seemed vaguely familiar, but he couldn't quite place where he'd seen the young woman before. "Hello Ma'am you look lost. Can I help you?"

"Are you looking for someone or are you lost?" Maia asked.

A smile of relief crossed Samantha's face as both Maia and Hank spoke to her. "Yes and yes," she said as she looked at each of them in turn. She pulled out a PADD from a purse slung on her shoulder and handed it to Maia. "I'm looking for my cabin assignment."

"Deck nine officers quarters cabin 7A", take the turbo lift to deck 9 turn left walk down the corrido unil you get to cabin 7 your on the port (left)side of the deck." Maia said.

Samantha about gushed with appreciation. "Thank you. These Norway-class vessels are a lot bigger than the Oberth and Nova ones I have been on."

Hank just gave a grunt that was barely audible to Maia.

"If you are having a problem getting there just ask the computer, these wall panels light up and will actually lead the way." Maia said helpfully.

Maia knew that was a feature the old Oberth class ships didn't have.

"You must be Samantha Blake. I am Commander Maia Sterling and this is the chief of the boat Senior Chief Henry "Hank" Keitel. Did you just come aboard?" Maia asked.

"Yes ma'am. Boarded about twenty minutes ago." Samantha turned to Hank and did a double take. She had never met him, but recognized the name. "I know you. Well, know of you any way."

Hank gave Samantha a nod of his head. "Lieutenant Blake is your brother if I am not mistaken." He offered a hand to the young scientist.

Samantha nodded as she shook hands. "That's right." She looked at both Maia and Hank, her expression slightly astonished. "Wait, is my brother assigned to the Leto too?"

"Lieutenant Ryan Blake is my Strategic Operations Officer, I believe he is in-processing with the Executive officer at the moment. We did have breakfast together this morning."

A mischievous grin crossed her face as her eyes sparkled. "He is so going to flip his head when he finds out I am here." She gave them both an appreciative smile. "Hope to see you both again soon. She walked off to find her quarters with the directions Maia had given her.

"I didn't realize they were siblings" Maia said.

Hank just watched the young woman stroll of. He gave a shake of head. "Well one thing is for sure."

"Oh? What's that Senior Chief?"

Hank looked down the corridor in the direction Samantha had gone before glancing at Maia. "She is definitely not Starfleet."

"No she is not but she is the only science officer I could find on short notice. Its not so bad at least we don't have children on board". Maia said.

Hank gave a sort of half snort/half chuckling sound. He eyed Maia with a dubious expression and sighed. "Now you gone and jinxed us. Before you know it we'll be knee deep in diapers."

"I certainly hope not." Maia said chuckling.
