Taking the next step

Mission: The Thorion Conundrum Mission Brief

Ryan entered the wardroom and immediately noticed the only other occupant at the moment was Sheena. He quickly grabbed his coffee and breakfast and made his way to the table to sit down beside her. Despite their both being in uniform, he gave her a quick kiss. "Good morning. Sorry for not stopping by last night but I was going over some of the mission details with Ambassador Langley last night. It was almost midnight when we got done and I didn't want to disturb you by stopping by."

"You should have, I was still up," Sheena said. "Besides your company might have softened the blow of the news I received. My best friend was killed in action yesterday..." she said sadly. She was pulling a guard duty mission when there was a fire fight and she was hit....." she added.

Ryan's expression shifted to one of deep concern. He reached out to take Sheena's hand. "I'm sorry. I would have stopped by if I had known about your friend."

"It's ok Ryan, it was a diplomatic mission and I was the security chief at the time. We were babysitting two Ambassadors from the Sheliak consortium and well, we were ambushed. I got hit badly, both Ambassador’s were shot dead and my friend was killed so it was a mission that went south in a hurry" Sheena said.

Ryan reached across the table and took Sheena's hand. Despite them both being in uniform and about to go on duty. He wanted to be as comforting for her as decorum would allow. "I would have stopped by had I known." A look of deep concern etched his features.

"It's a painful memory to say the least but it is in the past. Anyway, what are we going to do about us? Do we let the captain know about us or do we still play hide and seek?" Sheena said playfully, squeezing his hand tightly. She loved him dearly and wished they could be together all the time.

Ryan squeezed Sheena's hand back as he smiled warmly at her. "I think with all the time we spent dancing at the holiday party and the fact we left arm in arm together everyone knows how we feel about each other."

Laughing, "Ya think? If it wasn't evident then, it sure is now. I say lets move together and take the next step," Sheena said squeezing his hand hard. Taking the next step in their relationship was a big glorious step. To finally be together 24/7 was wonderful!

Ryan squeezed Sheena's hand back and smiled from ear to ear. "Let's talk to the Captain as soon as we get back from the mission." He leaned across the table and gave her a quick kiss.

"Ooohh I'm all for that my love," Sheena said excitedly. "I bet Maia already figured it out but talking to her is the best first step," she added.

"Agreed, so as soon as we get back from the away missions?" Ryan smiled at the prospect of moving in with Sheena.

"Definately Imzadi," Sheena said smiling. "Right after the mission," she added getting up and kidsing him deeply.
