Mission:
Double Dealing
Location: USS Leto, Ferengi Station Adar
Timeline: 239602.29
Captains Log Stardate 239602.29
T'Plana'Hath has reported several stasis pods have been found on the dilapidated Ferengi Space station, She also advised that the Away team has detected Five Jem'Hadar soldiers that are shrouded in the lower decks. It has been two hours since the away team has beamed over. Commander Sayori's damage control team has been able to restore partial main power at least enough to restore life support and shields. The base itself only has 2 fusion cannons to destroy asteroids and two working tractor-beam generators that still operate. From a tactical point of view, the base is derelict and would require extensive repairs and upgrades to meet any kind of operational level of output. Dr Griffith Has secured Ambassador Wainwright the Real Colin Barth and a Starfleet officer formerly of the Nova class USS Calypso, Lieutenant Maximillion Thornehill. The away team continues to gather more information and continues with makeshift repairs on the station. Sterling Maia A, Commanding Leto out.

***Bridge USS Leto***
Maia sat in her command chair on the bridge, repairs seemed to be going pretty well over on the station. suddenly the sensor alarm went off.
"Captain we are being scanned, Two Orion class interceptors, they are old. However, they are firing particle weapons at us."
The particle beams thumped against the Leto's shields with no appreciable damage.
"Captain, the interceptos made a pass got close enough for detailed scans, then peeled off back into the asteroids," Mr Rollins said.
"Mr Stiles put me through to the Away team."
"Aye Captain you're on"
=/\= Sterling to away team, We have been discovered and fired upon, apparently the Orions know we are here. I suggest you return as soon as you can. We are going to get some company within the hour =/\=
=/\= Acknowledged Leto, we will quicken out pace =/\=

***Ferengi Station Adar***
=/\= Sterling to away team, We have been discovered and fired upon, apparently the Orions know we are here. I suggest you return as soon as you can. We are going to get some company within the hour =/\=
=/\= Acknowledged Leto=/\=
Saul got his marines and sought out T'Plana'Hath as she had an intel tricorder, he was ready to take care of their Jem'Hadar infestation. There were five of them and they were shrouded.
"What the hell were the Jem'Hadar doing with Orion Pirates?" Saul asked T'Plana'Hath.
T'Plana was busy downloading information from one of the consoles in the command and control center when she heard 2nd Lieutenant Humphries enter. She did not bother looking up from her work.
"What the hell were the Jem'Hadar doing with Orion Pirates?" Saul asked T'Plana'Hath.
T'Plana replied in a flat and calm inflection; without looking at the lieutenant. "It would appear they are part of a negotiation team, sent to make a deal with the Orions concerning genomic alteration. Now, Lieutenant, I do detect them making their way towards the engineering team. I would advise you to get your marines down to the engineers."
"In other words, they are trying to attenuate the effects of Ketracel white on their physiognomy. That makes sense. What if we just turned off life support in the area they are in and froze them? Saul asked.
2nd Lieutenant Humphries could not see T'Plana-hath's smile at his comment about the Jem'Hadar. Typical straightforward thinking, the reality was most likely far worse. "Again, Lieutenant as you stand here speaking with me, they are two minutes forty-five seconds from reaching the engineers, I highly recommend you gather your marines for battle."
******USS Leto*******
Maia returned to the Bridge and relieved Sheena.
"Commander Blake, are we still carrying any subspace mines?" Maia asked.
"I want to blanket the asteroid field with mines before the Orions return. They will most likely be using small fighter craft up to destroyers to try and take us out," Maia clarified.
Ryan checked the ordnance inventory list while manning the Tactical Two station. He transferred the information to his PADD and crossed the bridge to hand the PADD to Maia. "We have twenty anti-ship mines with cloak and replication capabilities. Not enough to blanket the asteroid field, but if we cluster them at the larger gaps, enough will replicate to close the biggest avenues of travel into or out of the asteroid field."
"Excellent, If they do come for us they will incur enough damage to reconsider, Please make it happen," Maia ordered.
Ryan mobilized the ordnance crew to prepare the mines for deployment. It would take about fifteen minutes to get the mines from the magazine to the main shuttle bay and load the proximity detonators and another fifteen to deploy them. Weapons yield was set to maximum on each device. Any fighters that crossed the proximity threshold would be destroyed outright and any heavier starships would sustain heavy damage.
"At least we will know when they are attacking," Maia said.
******Station Engineering Section*******
“Getting internal sensors online needs to be a priority!” Sayori called across the bay toward Vicks and Wedge. “Anything else is a bonus!”
“I don’t think the Jem’Hadar can be detected by internal sensors when their shrouded, Ma’am!” Vicks called back.
“Well, it’s something! Every resource helps!” Sayori kept working at a panel, doing her best to get anything she could online. Anything that might give any tactical advantage. “C’mon Sayori,” she told herself. “You got this. You’re not dying on your first away mission as Leto Chief Engineer. That would be waaaaaay too embarrassing. You’d never live it down.”
Her self-encouragement was interrupted by the sound of a door closing. But no one was at the door.
“Yokunai” she mumbled. Not good. =/\= Summers to Humphries. We have guests down here. =/\=
=/\= On our way =/\= Saul said.
"Okay, people let's lock and load, head to engineering, looks like they have company. Let's double-time it," Saul said.
Inspired, Sayori had a sudden idea. “Everyone get ready!” she called to her team. “Phasers in hand, just in case! Set to stun!” She worked on her console one-handed, phaser in the other, and got control over ventilation. With a few added commands, water-mist began to fill engineering. Not enough to cause them problems, but just enough to highlight invisible people?
Hopefully…
Saul and his squad found themselves in a firefight near engineering. The Jem'Hadar had made their move when the lights came on. Phaser and disruptor fire scorched walls and set new fires. The Jem'Hadar were surrounded yet they kept fighting they were machines. However, the Marines were in full power-assisted battle armor and had a decisive advantage, it was over in the corridor in a matter of minutes. Five dead Jem'Hadar soldiers were burning in the hallways.
=/\=Commander Sayori, what's your status=/\= Saul asked.
Sayori tapped her comm badge. =/\= Summers here. We think there's at least one Jem’Hadar present, the actual number unknown. Trying to nullify the shroud but we’re under-armed here. =/\= She checked her phaser. Stun might not cut it. She increased the power setting and hoped for the best.
=/\= Open the door were coming in=/\=
"Down!" Sayori called out before overriding the door to the engine room to open. She and her engineers dropped to the deck and under consoles, doing their best to stay out of the line of fire.
Saul's rifles were set at something much higher than stun and their visual augmenters could see well into the ultraviolet realm.
Sayori saw the mist on the upper level, near the railing, twirl unnaturally. Seeing where the Marines were coming in, she did some quick mental arithmetic. "Ten degrees right, upper balcony!"
Saul set his phaser rifle to a wide angle and fired where Sayori indicated.
Soon she heard a thump on the ground where the Jem'Hadar soldier fell. The soldier turned visible, he was quite dead.
"Any more?" Saul asked.
Internal sensors were now online, and fog had thoroughly filled the compartment. She couldn’t detect shrouded Jem’Hadar, but voids in the fog would stand out.
Thankfully, there were none.
“Negative,” Sayori called out. “Reactor secure. Thanks for the save.”
"No problem now can you set this place to explode?"
Sayori grinned and let out a manic little giggle. "I wouldn't be much of an engineer if I couldn't blow up a space station!"
She put her thumb and index finger to her lips and whistled loudly. "Engineering Team! Time to bug out. Rendezvous at the door now, double time!" She set to work on a console with a plan taking shape in her mind. "'Get the station running,' they said," she muttered to herself as she worked. "'Blow the station up,' they said. Make up your mind, people!" she joked.
A moment later she joined her team members and Saul near the reactor room's main exit. She held up her tricorder to show it to the Marine. "I've rigged a coolant overflow. Give the word, I press this button, and the entire coolant reserve dumps directly into the reactor core. It'll drop the temperature inside by anywhere between ten and fifty million Kelvin in about ten seconds, the stress of which will shatter the reactor and release the rest of the contained energy in one big boom. We don't want to be here when I push it, Lieutenant."
"Good press the button then let's get back to our beam-out point," Saul replied.
“On beam-out, Lieutenant,” Sayori advised. “The boom will happen quick quick.”
*****Ferengi Station Command and Control Center*****
As the marines made their way to help the engineering team T'Plana began the process of closing accessways to the engineering system, to slow the Jem'Hadar. She had already closed and sealed the command and control room. She glanced at her intelligence tricorder as information was streaming through it. Interesting she thought, a notation that the Orion ship Naycer had acquired a Romulan cloaking device. She hit the communication button =/\=USS Leto be advised that a cloaked Orion ship may be in the area.=/\=
=/\= Understood, is there any way you can set the fusion reactors to explode maybe give a 10-minute delay=/\=
T'Plana-Hath, shook her head, why rush, one needed to learn to remain calm. =/\=I am finished with the destruct sequence. One to beam out.=/\=
Belbre moved forward. Some of her security team took up a point that she decided would be the "line in the sand point", as they said on Earth. She hit her communications button.
=/\= Captain I am preparing to seal an area off. The only way we will have out is to have the Transporter room beam us out. This will allow time for the other teams to finish what they need to and escape. We will be the last of the team off of the station.. =/\=
She had the others set up their positions and then sealed the hatch by fusing the door shut so it could not be opened from either side. Then she set up in her position. She could hear them coming and knew they would be mad by being trapped. They would have to use explosives to get through.
The Jem'Hadar were prepared and blew the hatch. the concussive force knocked her security team off their feet for a moment.
Suddenly the first group came through the hatch with a hail of phaser fire. Her security detachment managed to gain a secure footing and fired back. "We will hold on as long as possible at this point. No one is to pass us at all costs. Continue firing!!!!!!!"
Jeffries fired and fired and fired! He took out three of them before he got sapped. Two more got sapped conduits overhead exploded sending shrapnel everywhere.
"Federation surrender!" The Jem 'Hadar second called out to Belbre.
Suddenly the overhead lights exploded. Fires were all around you. Some of your security team has been hit.
Suddenly Saul and some of his marines appeared and blasted the remaining contingent of Jem'Hadar with photonic grenades.
"You okay, Commander?" Saul asked.
"Thanks Saul. they were a handful," replied Belbre.
"Let's seal that hatch and a couple of others on our way back to slow them down."
=/\= transporter room beam three wounded directly to sickbay and be ready this is a long way from being over.=/\=
"Suggest we start regrouping in one location and make ready to bug out. They have a lot more than we are prepared for."
"Yes, Sir, I think it's time to get the hell out of here," Saul said.
Once the wounded were cleared the away team regrouped.
=/\=Lt Humphries to Leto away team ready beam out=/\=
At that moment, Sayori Summers pressed the trigger to her makeshift self destruct.
=/\=Energizing=/\=
The away team materialized in the let's transporter room to the sound of the red alert klaxon blaring.
