Mission: Monsters of the Past
Location: USS Leto

Lt. Tanger was tasked by Captain Sterling to get as much information about Dr. Tolon. He left the bridge to go back to his office to get his diplomatic PADD and then he set out to find Lt. Gibbs. The captain stated that Gibbs is an acquaintance of Dr. Tolon's so that is the source to start with.. Kasey already set up a diplomatic guest quarters for Dr. Tolon and now to follow up on the captain's request.

Just before Kasey left his office, he paused at the door. "Computer, where can I find Lieutenant Gibbs?

"Lieutenant Rick Gibbs is currently on the Bridge," the Computer said in her usual Computer voice.

"Thank you." Tanger replied for no particular reason as it was a computer but it was the polite thing to do.

Tanger then headed to the bridge. He did not realize he would be back up on the bridge again as he does not spend much time up there. Once back on the bridge, he headed over to Lt. Gibbs.

"Hello, Lieutenant." Tanger stated and stood to the left of Gibbs. "I am hoping I can get information from you regarding your acquaintance, Dr. Tolon. Would we be able to talk about him?"

Rick gave a look to Tanger from his console. Turning a little more fully to him, "Sure we can do that. Right here is fine since we're just in warp still, unless you'd prefer some where else."

"Here is fine with me, So how do you know Dr. Tolon?" Tanger replied.

"I ran into him before between my assignments. I needed some time off and heard of what he was attempting to do. It got me curious, and being one of the older El'Aurians still alive, I figured I'd pay a visit."

"Well, Please share more about what he was attempting to do and how your visit was along with any and all details you can provide about him." Tanger asked of Gibbs.

"Given at the time it was pretty simple things to be honest. More of reacclimating things lost. More was just catching up to be honest. Or rather..more my talking about things of the past. It'd help of you were more specific in what you'd like to know about."

"Well what is he a doctor of? What is his current project?" Tanger replied.

"Advanced Weapons Research and Development, he's currently as he as been, working on weapons and technology to fight the Borg like we did in the past."

"That is interesting. I would love to know more about that sort of field as I have always had an underrated interest in engineering and so I am now curious about how he is working on a project to fight the Borg." Tanger replied. "Do you know how long has he been working his current project?"

"The time frame, I'm not quite sure about. For all I know it could have been those hundreds of years ago when that all happened. I was there. And the Nexus. I remember some of that technology but most of us made a pact to not start this line of work up again."

"So I see, you and him were both in the Nexus. That is where you met him and he apparently started his field of work. Is there any other details you can provide?" Tanger asked of Gibbs.

"The Nexus doesn't exactly work that way. Not..completely. I met him outside of it before actually. The details, possibly to go along is look at past technology we do already have, such as quantum torpedoes. Some other weapons we have already. Not saying that he made them, but may have had some help in."

"I only know of the Nexus from reports of what others have said of their experiences. Never spoke to anyone directly that I am aware of that has experienced it." Kasey replied. "Well I guess I will leave you be and get on with other duties. Thank you and take care." Tanger then excused himself to let Gibbs get back to the task he was doing before they started their conversation.
