Tempers flare

Mission: The Thorion Conundrum Mission Brief
Location: CRR

After leaving her office and her Rifles giving her space Karyn entered the nearest turbo lift and when the doors closed "bridge" she said, a short ride later the lift opened onto the bridge and an angry Rifle Officer headed straight to the CRR and pressed the Buzzer.

"Enter". Maia said.

"Ah Lieutenant Somers, do come in. What's on your mind?"

Entering with a cloud-like emotion over her head she looked around "Where is Commander Toran Captain, I asked if she could be present, as I have an issue to take up with her, I asked you to be present to make sure I refrain from hitting the First Officer and to be a witness" Karyn said.

"She is on her way, please take a seat Lieutenant, can I get you something?" Maia replied.

Sheena stepped into Maia's ready room quietly. "Lieutenant Somers, you have a problem with me in that I left you behind. Normally I would have waited but the injuries to both my parents were critical and would have died had I not acted quickly," Sheena said knowing that the Lieutenant was going to say something to that effect.

"Ladies please sit down." The captain said.

Maia knew there was a problem brewing and she needed to get to the bottom of it.

"Lieutenant Somers, what is your grievance?" Maia asked.

Looking at the Captain, "as the Commander said, I do not know what they teach Fleet Officers at the Academy, but there is one rule all marines try to live by," she said and angrily looked directly at Toran "DO NOT leave your team behind, you Lieutenant Commander Toran you sir left my team behind, tell me Commander do you know what would have happened had the Leto's transports did not work? My people left behind would likely be captured and questioned and as the Caliphate do not have the same rules for telepaths that Starfleet does my people would have had our minds torn apart for information all because you panicked" she inhaled as her anger was such.

"I know your parents were injured, but it would not have hurt for you to wait until my team had gotten to the shuttle, but no *touch of sarcasm*, but your concern made you leave your men behind. If you were one of my Rifles and did that I would have you in full combat kit then I would run you until you threw up, then when you are done throwing up I would run you some more. But as you are my superior officer and a Fleet Officer, I will leave your fate up to the Captain, but I am not happy Commander and be glad you did not do this to Colonel Somers, my Sister, my temper pales in comparison" Karyn said then stepped closer to the Commander in a threatening manner.

"You do something like that again and you will pay for it, in my book everyone is allowed One such mistake, this was yours, next time the Captain will not be witness," Karyn said, then she having gotten her anger out of her system, she stepped back and 9in a calm tone "so how are your parent's Commander?" She asked all calm again and standing back at a respectful distance.

"Will that be all Lieutenant?" Maia asked.

Sheena sat in silence, knowing that Lt. Somers was correct, however, she knew before she beamed up, that all the teams were in control of the situation. "Thank you for asking about my parents. It will be a long road to recovery for both of them but my grandparents will help them back to health. Thank you for asking Lt. Somers," Sheena said.

"I am glad they will pull through," Karyn said looking at Toran and then to Captain "yes, Captain I am done, I will return to my office," Karyn said giving Toran an Abvialent glance as she made to live the Captain's Ready Room. "May I be dismissed, Captain?" Karyn said coming to attention as she faced the Captain.

"Yes, You're are dismissed, Lieutenant," Maia replied.

As Karyn left she passed Commander Blake and gave him a tight smile as she left the room and headed to the turbo lift.

Ryan passed Karyn at the door as she was leaving. Expressions seemed a bit strained, but he withheld commenting until he knew what was going on. "You wanted to see me, Captain?"

"Yes Mr. Blake, I am placing Commander Toran on an extended LOA, you will assume her duties as executive officer until further notice." Maia said.
