Finding the bodies of the missing crew

During the initial caliphate attack:

- Gorebets quarters -

Commander Gorebets suffering from a massive headache got up from his bunk to answer a call from his Exec 1st Lieutenant Sommers. as he tried to press the comm button on his desk his head exploded like it was a grenade. He couldn't call out for help or do anything all he thought he heard was laughter then all went dark.

Karyn was in her Office when a cut-off call registered, she called up the log, it was from Gorbets, curious she got up and left her office doing her tunic up as she entered the nearest lift and when the doors were closed "Marine Captain Gorbets Quarters" she said and a short time later she stepped out onto the deck that Gorbets had his quarters, as she walked down the corridor and rounded the corner she stopped outside Gorbet's quarters and pressed the buzzer, no answer, then a small reached her, she had only smelled such at a murder scene or battlefield, now concerned "computer override door Somers alpha Omega 569012" she said and the door opened and she was greeted with the same smell but only stronger. she walked towards the communications and saw Gorbets, or what was left of him was his face down with half his head missing, she held back from upchucking as she tapped her COmmbadge.

=/\= Lieutenant Somers to Lieutenant Brannon, lock down the ship, and supply a security and Investigation detachment, Marine Captain Gorbets is dead, I have just found him with most of his head missing =/\= She said.

=/\= Understood Lt Somers, I am on my way. =/\=

Lt Brannon hit her communications badge. "Security Alert, Lockdown all decks."
Captian Sterling and Commander Toran, you are needed at Capt Gorbet's quarters. ASAP."

=/\= On my way lieutenant =/\= Maia stated.

=/\= Acknowledge I will be outside his quarters, keeping the are secured until you and a team arrive, Somers out =/\= she finished and closed the link then tapped her Commbadge again

Brannon got there quickly and found Somers, as she entered the room she saw Gorbet laying there. When saw him she had an idea of what caused his death. But waiting for the Dr. to arrive. She looked around and saw nothing out of the ordinary in the room. No sign of a struggle or a fight occurring.

"Hello, LT Somers hate to hear about him. Was a little odd but from what I see a good officer. Did you see anyone in the walkway before you found him?"

Looking at Brannon "I saw no one I did, however, have to use my override code to gain entry to his quarters, so if I were to make an educated guess, he felt some pain and tried to call for help and boom goes the cranium. He was facing the communications when I found him so obviously his intent was to call for help. I have seen severed limbs and gory situations, but nothing like in that room" she said indicating the roo she was standing outside of "I have called Medical to send a team and Forensics here, but until then remain outside as the smell gets worse when you enter" Somers added.

- Sickbay -

Robert was just looking at a PADD when his com badge chirped.

=/\= Hendon here=/\= He replied

=/\= Medical Emergency in Captain Gorebet's quarters, you will need a forensics team also, Gorebets is dead, I have notified Security who are on their way, I am now outside his quarters waiting for Security, bring nose blockers the smell is terrible =/\= she responded.

oO Smell….?Oo he thought

Robert grimly picked up his medical pack.

=/\= Acknowledged Doctor, I will notify the Captain, Somers out =/\= sighing heavily she paces outside the room trying to calm down the discovery was now hitting her, her hands were shaking and thus had to try a second time to tap her Commbadge, when she did =/\= Lieutenant Somers to Captain Sterling =/\=

With a shaky voice and a little revulsion on what she saw inside the room she answered the Captain =/\= Sir, I have just found Captain Gorebets dead, I am no medic but it looks like his head exploded from the inside out, I have notified Security and Medical and I am currently awaiting them outside Mr Gorebet's quarters, just thought you should know Captain! =/\= Somers said.

- Counselors Officer -

Lt Allessa Herria was taking a sonic shower when her head suddenly exploded, She didn't actually hear laughter, indeed her mind was unusually quiet, but she definitely felt her reality shift and then nothing. The sonic shower was still on when Lt Tanger found her.

- Intelligence Office -

Lt. Jace Wynn was working on contacts within section 31 to get further information on the biogenic device that the caliphate was going to use on the ruling family house of Betazed. The biogenic weapon had come through a fat Ferengi named Galen. however, it was stolen merchandise apparently from the Kzinti Confederacy ultimately a botched operation from the new Cardassian Obsidian Order. The closer he got to the information the more his head started to pound, He tried every relaxation technique he had ever learned but to no avail first, his heart stopped then his head exploded, the blood and gore shorting out his console...His body simply slumped forward. He wasn't found for another three hours by Lt. Gibbs.

=/\= Well this isn't good at all... =/\= Kneeling by the body. "I think I found the last one. It's not pretty. It's got to be some kind of explosive implant..." Gibbs shook his head.

=/\= Captain Sterling this is Brannon, I have 2 others that are reported dead also. I am implementing a full Security Alpha One Protocol. no one except You, Toran, and myself can travel between decks till lifted. And I have extra security personnel and marines being assigned to both of you till we find out what is going on. Lt Wynn in the intelligence office and Lt Herria was found by Tanger as well. =/\=

Karyn was pacing outside Gorbet's quarters she was clearly shaken and was startled when someone approached her, she looked at the figure and continued pacing back and forth "that is some gory carnage in that room" she said to the new Arrival.

Robert looked at Somers. She looked a little pale. Robert had visited scenes of carnage plenty of times. But it still affected him. He would be giving his children an extra hug. When he saw them next.

“Are you alright Somers?” Robert asked giving her a scan.

Brannon arrived on the scene and saw the Doctor and Somers standing there. She knew it was bad the way Somers looked. She came up to them, "What do you have Lt Somers and Hendon? I can see from your face it is bad. Dr Hendon do you object if I take a look at the scene with you. It will allow me to see what evidence may be left behind."

"Some onlookers had shown up, Brannon looked at her CPO on the scene. Chief, have the Security team move everyone back a little more. Do not want the evidence compromised." He replied, "Yes Lt Brannon.

Hendon finished scanning Somers. He looked at her and nodded.

" Yes of course. Also, it might be a good idea to set up a quarantine area and suit up in quarantine suits. Before we go in there. That way the crime scene won't be compromised by anything we bring in there." Hendon suggested.

While putting on her suit she looked at Dr Hendon. "You know we have 3 different crime scenes to check out. There are 2 others that were killed too. And it sounds like the same type of weapon was used in all 3 cases Dr Hendon." Replied Brannon.

Robert pulled on his suit and checked his gloves.

“Are the other two in the same state as Gorbets?” Hendon asked.

Maia got there about then. "I am afraid so Doctor. Gorbets Herria and Wynn are all without heads. They all seemed to lose them right about the time the away teams boarded the enemy vessels."

Maia felt intense grief about it but also felt helpless at this point.

"See what you can find out, perhaps there is a residual energy signature or something. What this a directed energy attack or did someone lop of their heads? We need to know as soon as possible." Maia requested.

While you check the bodies, I was hoping to look at the evidence around each of the rooms to see if I can figure out what happened. We need to find defense from this weapon. And a way to have the upper hand against the Caliphate. If not we will all be sitting ducks for the Caliphate. Replied Brannon.

Hendon checked his tricorder and probes. He was ready for the gory room they were about to enter.

“Yes. All the heads blown off? Well let's go in there and begin our task” Robert said.

Brannon replied, "I will start with the perimeter and work inward toward the body so you can do what you need without me interfering with your investigation Doctor." As she spread some vapor rub under her nose. "Care for some Doctor, It is old fashion but it does work to mask the odor. "Learned about this being done in the 20th Century. Care to suit up and join us, Captain."

"No Lieutenant you seem to have the situation well in hand, and I have other duties to attend too, but keep me informed." Maia said.

Have the bodies moved to sickbay for a proper post mortem, when the doctor is finished here. Maia said.
