Seeing Captain Sterling

LT Brannon had been dreading this meeting with Captain Sterling. She knew that she had messed up and that lead to her being Kidnapped by Toda and held at the Orion location. She also knew the Marines and Nurse Peeters had ricked their lives to save her and she would never be able to repay that.

She came out of the Turbolift and went to the CCR door. She adjusted her unifom and rang thechime. Then waited for what was coming.

"Enter"

"Yes Lieutenant Brannon, please take a seat." Maia said.

"I have yet to see or read your report on what happened. How you were captured, and why you were alone, when you were ordered specifically not to go anywhere alone. You have not turned in an after action report on your captivity what did you see what did you learn?" Maia continued.

"Care to explain yourself"?

As she sat down Brannon smiled, "Well Captain at the time I was in a very open area and about 75 meters to my right was some Federation personnel and aboutc100 meters to the left was some others.

I felt safe knowing they were there and sent my security NCO to get the security device to make final calibrations to the security perimeter. That was when Toda surprised me.

I felt safe or I would not have did it. I forgot to inform the others in the area as to the situation with my status.

"Yes you forgot to inform anyone, after I specifically instructed you too. That's called disobeying the orders of a superior officer Lieutenant. You not only put yourself at risk but you put others at risk too. That was both foolish and insubordinate. Now tell me why I shouldn't remove you from your post and demote you to petty officer 2nd class?" Maia asked.

"I did not think Captain and would accept any punishment you gave me also. I was insubordinate and did disobey orders. I would deserve any punishment you gave to me Captain. I should have obeyed the orders."

"You're right you should have. Hopefully you will learn from this and grow from it." Maia said.

"I plan to do so Captain. I see all experiences as a learning opportunity and use them that way. Right now I am the only one that knows where I hid the amulet. I was wondering if you want me to keep it that way or would you like to know where it is?" Said Brannon.

"No keep it to yourself. Tell no one. I don't want that amulet to become a bargaining chip for anyone." Maia stated.

Brannon smiled, "I figured you would say that but still wanted to ask as a professional courtesy. I don't want you thinking I am hiding anything from you or other senior staff. And I also don't want others in danger if it was found out they knew the location of it. Toda is dangerous and will resort to anything to find it. Right now I don't even go near the location of it. That way I know it is safe."

Good, keep it that way. Was there anything else I can do for you?" Maia asked.

"Not at this time Captain, permission to be dismissed." Brannon replied.

"You are dismissed. Happy Hunting". Maia said.
