USS Leto has reached the La grange pint between Thorion-3 and the Asteroid field. The Thorion Ballista Bellerophon has picked up at least half of the away team we sent Thorion-3 four days ago. Commander Blake is reported to be in rough shape but otherwise unharmed. according to Thoron intelligence the Orion Syndicate and the Riixian Caliphate have an uneasy alliance. This bodes well for our chief of security who hasn't been seen or heard from in a week. There have been no hostage demands but I know for a fact that the Riixian's don't have what they want. The Thorians report that several attempts have bene made to enter the asteroid field but apparently they are mined with anti starship weaponry. Patrols are now being flown over Thorion 3 and peace has been resumed. The Miners are now fully protected from hostile incursions. We have 50 Ballista's and 75 Javelins at our disposal. It is an overwhelming force. However the free citizens of Thorion-4 protect there territory as jealously as Tholian's do it seems. I do hope that our new chief medical officer doesn't have too many casualties to deal with. Dr. Hendon is a recent transfer form the starship Cygnus. The man couldn't have had better timing getting here. Strategically I really could use Mr. Blake right about now. The Thorion's are setting up a Tachyon sensor net to prevent cloaked ships from leaving the area. The Thorion's penchant for technology is impressive unlike there Orion counterparts, there tech is well researched and state of the art. Some of it like the Paragravitic drive is even ahead of Federation tech. Mr. Barton has come up with a plan to infiltrate the defenses by piloting a smaller craft through the asteroid field to take out the automated control system. the ECM is very high in the local area. However we are developing a way to overcome it.
