Mission: The Thorion Conundrum Mission Brief
Location: Counseling Office
Timeline: TBD (Possible backsim?)

Alessa's office was still half in boxes. She was putting books on a shelf. She had read somewhere that it would make her look smarter and more professional. So thats what she did. She had a full day this day she wanted to touch base with the senior staff and make sure all the officers got a basic hello I am here.

She had sent a com to Lieutenant Brannon and waited for them to show up at the door. She replicated herself a cup of coffee and put her hair into a generic pony tail to stay out of the way.

Brannon came for her appointment with Lt Herria. It was required vafter being held hostage by someone. She pressed the call button and waited.

Alessa said in a rather pleasant voice, "Come inside." She stood up to greet the Lieutenant. As the door opened she put on the friendliest smile she could manage and motioned at the small coffee service in the corner.

"Pour yourself a cup of coffee or tea, I have some tulaberry muffins/ You have been through a lot and I know you may or may not be so eager to talk about things. " She then motion at the couch where there was a stand that had tissues to asorb any crying that may or may not happen. Then she cleared her throat.

"Either way get comfortable and lets talk." Alessa said.

Brannon got some coffe and sat down, no tissues necessary Betazed's don't cry. And the muffins look nice. Thanks."

"I am a betazed and I cry." Alessa said. She then sat down.

"For the record state your name, rank and last four digits of your service number. Its so I can build a case log about this. then we can go through the checklist and touch on what we need to touch on."

"I control my emotions so I don't cry, and Vulcan friend showed me some exercises to help control my emotions and also limit external interference where I am a telepath. Angelina Brannon LT Alpha six one." Brannon replied.

"Just because one can mimic a custom where emotion is blocked doesn't mean there isn't any there. So you came here out of what then because it was part of regs? Because I assure you this can either be a chore or it can be some time of self discovery. Miss Brannon why don't you start from the begining, seeing how I am new here and not quite up to speed on all that happened," Alessa said taking out her notebook.

Sometimes you can find comfort in study of ones customs and adapt them to a lower level yourself. I was born to parents on Betazed. And they were killed when I was extremely young. I learned that I was adopted to parents from Tera (Earth) for my protection. Starfleet moved them and me around a lot when I was growing up.

At 18 I joined Starfleet Academy and studied hard at being a security officer. I did well during my career so far. My parents gave me a box containing items belonging to my birth parents. In it was an amulet that belonged to my mother who sat on the Betazed Council. I learned the amulet was to identify me to the council when I returned to Betazed as an adult to inherit my mother's seat on council.

I was careful not to identify myself to anyone as my adoptive parents required of me for my on safety. I did not even tell anyone in my chain of command about it. Then recently someone attacked me here on the Leto. I decided to tell Captain Sterling and a few senior ranks of my secret. Finally Toda captured me when I dropped my guard and used Orion pirates to try to escape. I hid the amulet and it will remain hidden till I find a way to capture Toda and see she stands charges in a Federation review and under Betazed law.

I am taking all precautions to protect myself right now. I have 4 guards standing by with me at all times and they are my most trusted guards as well.

"What are you doing for your mental well being? You also understand hiding evidence is a violation of trust of the highest order. What stays between you and I is confidential but I encourage you to tell the captain of its location. It could put further lives in danger." Alessa said.

Brannon smiled, I do realize the danger. But the more who know the location the more likely Toda is able to find it. And anyone knowing the location is in grave danger just knowing where it is. And I know what is said between us is confidential. Only a handful of senior officers can access the area where I hid the amulet. And that alone makes it very safe.

Captain Sterling understands why I do not tell anyone right now and respects it. I know for sure Toda is on the Leto and am trying to locate her. She is a trained killer. She can look like anyone she wants too. I have a few suspects that I think are Toda and will soon get her and put her in the Brig. She can also phase shift through any material to gain access to any area she chooses. I have security protocols to detect her if she phase shifts.

I also keep special security measures to prevent anyone from phase shifting into my quarters or office. As to my mental well being I am using some forms of earth relaxation techniques such as yoga, tia chia, and one of my favorites is reading a good book. I talk to others who were kidnapped or held hostage as well.

Alessa wrote the words Disturbingly well adjusted on her notepad.

"Lieutenant, there are markers a person has when dealing with such.. adversity. Usually there are stress markers what you are exhibiting is an almost superhuman ability to deal with this. I do not see any medications in your record. Are you using any illicit substances or drinking excessively as a way to deal with this?" Alessa asked with great concern.

Brannon replied, "I do not use drinking of beverages or drugs to do things to hide my symptoms. I am still hunting for Toda and I know she is on the Leto. I can feel her presence and have on a couple of occasions been able to recognize her thoughts when she drops her guard. Till I catch Toda I will never be safe and nether will she stop looking for a way to get me. I have to stay vigilante and have to be able to make the correct decisions to get her and lock her in a cell in the Brig.

Toda is a professional killer and will not stop killing till she is caught and I plan to be the one to get her. Even if She wounds me or kills me. When she kidnapped me she made it personal. And I will get her. If it is the last thing I do."

"If you feel you are in a clear and present danger, I would recommend talking with either the Marines or somebody with a lot of firepower at their disposal. Maybe get a telepathy to actively scan for thoughts and a science person may be more equipped to explain the basics of neutrino radiation and how it disrupts cloaking fields?" Alessa offered.

I have got Science working on ways to detect and to contain her. And have 2 telepahts from security working with me in detecting her. All I can do is make sure I don't make any mistakes in the mean time. I keep a couple of security personnel with me as well. And no security is doing solo patrols. And have requested to use Marines to patrol as well.

"If I were you I would talk to Captain Gorebets with that, But he is itching for something for the marines to do." Alessa offered.

I plan to as soon as we get done here. Hope you don't mind the security personnel outside the door. I need to be extra careful. I have engineering running patterns to prevent phase shifting ship wide. That creates to much of a security lapse. Phase shifters could access areas they are not allowed access to. If I am the only one that knows where the amulet is. This protects everyone else because they are of no value to Toda if she grabbed them.

"If its that much of an unstoppable threat close by wouldn't making plans to defeat Toda be useless because they would know?" Alessa asked.

Brannon said, "Toda can change herself into anyone and can fool everyone with it. I keep a small circle of friends and co-workers around me. This way I can spot her if she tries to get close to me. But no one is unstoppable to security. We just have to be more diligent is all. I will get her and all will know I did it."

Alessa gave a nod, "I can only help with psychological problems. You have to understand where this seems.. unique.. from my perspective. Everything reads like a weirdly written thriller rather then a day on a starfleet vessel. If there is anything I can do to help you let me know. I am going to sign off on you on a temporary basis as being fit for duty, I am prescribing a round of medication to help with depression that will help with the ptsd symptoms you are experiencing. You will meet with somebody from this office once a week. Alright?"

OK and thanks for the good duty report. i will be ok and contact you if I need anything. Perhaps we can do lunch in the galley together sometime together as friends and not of councilor/patient level.

Alessa smilled, "If the replicator makes half decent salads consider me there."
