Lieutenant Commander Kasey Tanger's body was found in Engineering after suffering an Isolytic shock while working on the EPS manifold. He was checking some power fluctuations while we were maneuvering through this asteroid field As we are not using the warp drive he wanted to take a look at it. He took his glove off and accidentally brushed against the manifold. Death was instantaneous. Lieutenant Satori Summers found his body during shift change and reported the incident immediately. Funeral arrangements are being made, and I have the unenviable task of replacing a dear friend in his role as Chief Engineer. Going through the records the obvious choice would be to promote Lieutenant Summers to Chief Engineer, She does have the experience and knowledge to perform well in that role. Sterling Maia A.
