Arrival of the Hendon’s

Robert sat on the transport shuttle and pretended to be asleep. His wife Alice also did the same. As their two children looked out the window. It was a tactic that seemed to bear fruit. As after nearly an hour the two children had finally stopped arguing.

The twins had been very over excited about Roberts' new posting. Especially this time as they would all be going with him. The only problem was they could not take all their toys. So from the day Hendon told his family. That his new posting of Chief Medical Officer of the USS Leto had come through. To the day they were both being led by the hand into the transport shuttle. A small battle worthy of the Klingon Empire had raged , in the Hendon household. As to whose toys were whose.

“ Just think Rob in a few years they'll be teenagers” Alice joked

“ Oh joy.” Robert had replied

Robert checked everything that was to go with. Was on its way to the transport and the items for storage went their way . Then after listening for half an hour to his mother. On why she never liked Howard, his sister Nadia’s soon to be ex husband. Hendon looked at himself in the mirror. Well he looked smart enough. Time to get the family going. The transport would not wait for them.

So here they were two hours later. On their way to rondevu with the Leto. The children had stopped arguing over who sat where. His wife sat next to him holding his hand. While keeping an eye on the children. Robert could think about his new posting. He had asked for medical posting and had kept his fingers crossed. It would be another head of department. Although of course Starfleet medical to their credit warned him. That may not be possible. Plus they had warned him his rank may have to be reduced. Due to the circumstances he received it in the first place. This angered him after what his last vessel had been through. Losing half her crew like that. After a sneak attack by Romulan raiders. Robert had toyed with leaving the service.

But all that was now forgotten about. Here they all were about to arrive at the designated meeting area.

“ Now children. Please behave remember no one knows us here. So please be on your best behaviour. For your fathers sake.” Alice told the two children. As the USS Leto came into view.

Once they had beamed over. Hendons two children immediately began shaking hands. With the people in the Transporter room.

“ Hello, I am Tom Hendon. Son of Dr Hendon.” Tom said

“ Hello, I am Petra Hendon. Daughter of Dr Hendon.” Petra said.

Robert felt his face redden as he gave his padd. With his transfer orders on. To the senior officer on duty.
