Personal History Ozai grew up on Trill Prime in a large family. He’s the youngest of seven siblings with a close knit family who were very supportive of one another, and are still in consistent contact. Several members of his family have gone into mid-to-high level politics or become Joined with Symbiotes, so the family has widespread connections in Trill society, though Ozai personally doesn’t have connections. He was a big competitor in track & field, and in competitive sporting events, until he experienced a medical emergency that led to his necessary cybernetic alterations. After said event, joining the Marines or becoming an Olympian seemed like far off dreams, and becoming Joined was absolutely impossible. Driven by his desire to not be the family failure, on an ambitious whim he decided to go off-planet and joined Starfleet.
