Mission:
Double Dealing
Location: USS Leto NCC-80916
Timeline: 239510.20
Captains log Stardate 239510.20
The starship Leto has assumed a standard orbit of the planet Farius. A warp core breach destroyed the Indefatigable. Lt. Barth has informed me that it had nothing to do with battle damage, it was sabotage. Major Krawl who was commanding the vessel has already filed a report with his superiors. The Federation Ambassador Flint Wainwright helped present it to the Royal Council. He was rebuked for that act. Apparently, the government of Farius Prime is not as united as we were led to believe. There has been a lot of internal strife for the past two years since Dilithium was discovered on Triton in large quantities.

Maia was escorting Major Krawl to the transporter room with what was left of his crew. The sooner he was off her ship the better. Something about Major Krawl didn't sit too well with her. He seemed almost hostile towards her for losing his ship.
Once the crew of the Indy was beamed down Maia instituted a phase one security sweep, just in case anything was planted on the Leto like bombs on the warp core, the dilithium chamber, or any main systems. She put Belbre in charge of that if there was anything found she would ferret it out.
Belbre stood and went with a special security team she has on standby for any contingency like this. She had also preassigned extra security teams in critical areas. They were sweeping the ship one deck at a time. Anything that looked like it did not belong was removed and then transported into open space. She had already done engineering and other areas first then moved on to other areas.
=/\= Captain we are about halfway done with the sweep and so far nothing has stood out. I did have a couple of items beamed into space as a precaution so far. No one could account for who the owner was. I will keep you informed as the sweep is finished. All critical areas have been cleared and extra security details assigned to protect them. =/\=
"Thank you, Commander," Maia replied.
After that Maia went to Sickbay to check on the away team, some of them had minor burns and radiation exposure trying to defeat the sabotage on the Farian destroyer.
There were only three of the damage control party there including Lt. Barth.
"Well Doc how are our away team," Maia asked.
“ To be honest ma’am not great they’re going to be here for a while. It’s not the minor burns they suffered, that we can fix in a jiffy. It’s the radiation they were exposed to, there has been some soft tissue damage. Plus their immune systems have been compromised. Luckily thanks and this is something you rarely hear from me, to Starfleet Medical. We have a new treatment that should repair that, but it will be rough.” Hendon reported.
"Do what you can for them Doctor, I need them back on their feet as soon as possible, especially Mr Barth," Maia said.
Maia looked at her injured officers and said a silent prayer for them, then returned to the bridge.

=/\=Sterling here=/\=
=/\= Captain we are getting reports from the surface that the Federation Embassy is under attack. Elements of the Triton and Farion sedition movement are holding civilians. No casualties as of yet and Ambassador Wainwright is not there, he is in a meeting at the Royal Palace. So far it seems these insurgents want the Federation Ambassador expelled. The Farion loyalist faction is trying to restore order, it looks like we are going into a hostile situation, Captain =/\=
=/\= Thank you, Mr. O'Carroll keep me advised of any new situational updates. =/\=
"Mr. Blake please bring us to yellow alert and stand by battlestations, one hell of a time to lose 2/3rds of my marines," Maia ordered.
Ryan did as instructed. Tactical systems were manned and brought online with damage control parties to their staging areas.
"Mr Gibbs please find out the tactical situation, I want to be ready for any contingency."
Rick took a moment, "It looks like the two factions are in a face-off, more like a standoff at the main square, where there is also rioting in the shopping districts. There seems to be another group trying to make their way to the Royal Palace, and also being held off by the loyalists. There's at least six small support craft, two in orbit and the other four are in the fray on the ground."
"Thank you, Mr. Gibbs, what kind of ships are in orbit?" Maia asked.
There took a long moment between pressing buttons or tapping on this or that before Rick glanced back up and over to Maia. "There's at least three Ferengi D'Kora-class cargo ships in orbit, two Vulcan Science vessels exiting the trade route through this system. Two more ships, look like Nausicaan Y65-Class trade ships."
Unfortunately the Leto's sensors were being deceived. For a number of those ships are not what they appear. Using holographic technology to mask their engine and power signatures, it also let the Orion Destroyers and Heavy Cruisers keep up their facade as boring commerce ships.
Ryan stepped up to Maia in the center seat. "We should contact the Embassy and have the staff there prepare for evacuation to the ship. We may want to send a team to the Royal Palace and secure the Ambassador in case things go south."
"I agree number One, we can transfer the embassy here for all intents and purposes, this entire ship is a mobile embassy of sorts." Maia said, Make it so number one."
"Aye Captain." Ryan stepped over to the Mission Operations console. He opened a channel to the Embassy and spoke briefly with the Chief of Staff. He concluded the conversation and returned to Maia. "Fifteen minutes and we can transport the Embassy staff. Though the Ambassador is currently at the Royal Palace."
"Captain, I am getting reports that the Farion and Tritonian ambassadors have been killed and that a state of war exists between the Farions and Tritonians, per Crown Prince Farouk. He also says that the palace is under attack by commandoes and that Ambassador Wainwright has been captured and transported away by enemy enemy troops. He assumes they were Tritonian but they were wearing heavy combat armor and he couldn't be sure. They did say that Ambassador Wainwright had been forcibly expelled from his post," Lieutenant O'Carroll reported.
"Ask him if He requires any assistance to repel the invaders," Maia ordered.
"Sending" Lt O'Carroll advised.
Prince Farouk is requesting assistance, Captain.
Maia pressed the red alert switch on her chair.
"Red Alert, All hands to Battlestations".
=/\="Lieutenant Humphries report to the Bridge=/\=
=/\=Acknowledged=/\=
"Mr. Gibbs do your best to locate the Ambassador, perhaps he was beamed to one of the ships in orbit," Maia said.
"Aye Captain."
Isabelle stepped out of the turbo-lift alongside Marina, both making their ways across to where they needed to be. Reaching her station Marina looked around, it felt odd being on the ship without Kasey but she had no doubt he’d be back in no time.
Tapping his commbadge, Barth chirped up. "Captain," he said, "I have located the Ambassador and have put a transporter lock on him. Mr. Gibbs, I am sending you the Ambassador's coordinates now."
Barth sends the coordinates of the ambassador's location.
Rick narrowed his eyes a moment, then nodded, "I've got a lock."
"Beam him out of there then," Maia said
Belbre had finished the sweeping of the Leto for anything suspicious. She was stepping off the turbo lift when she heard Captain Sterling say Red Alert. She took up her position and reported. "Captain the sweep of the ship found no devices of any kind that would endanger the Leto. All stations are ready and standing by.
Also, if needed I can lead a team of security personnel to help get the Ambassador out of harm's way."
Thank you, Commander, We have a transporter lock on the ambassador now. Prepare a team to beam down to assist Prince Farouk in peacekeeping operations. Coordinate with Lieutenant Humphries
be
Aye, Captain" replied Belbre. I want to keep the team small but able to complete the mission. Too large a team could dry attacks against us. I figure 4 to 5 personnel would be sufficient. And have the transporter room to maintain locks in case an emergency beam out is necessary."
"Sounds reasonable just make it happen," Maia said.
Belbre replied, "Aye Captain" She went to the turbo lift and entered it. The door closed and she stepped off with her team standing by in the transporter room.
"Captain we have a message coming in from the planetary parliament, the Federation Ambassador has been expelled,"
