Mission: Monsters of the Past
Location: USS Leto NCC-80916
Timeline: 239505.16

Captains Log Stardate 239505.16

The computer core has been deleted and reloaded from our own archives. We seem to have most primary systems back online. Weapons, shields, life support, and sensors are all back. Mr. Tanger is restarting the warp core, Fusion generators are back online. We have Impulse power and auxiliary systems. Weare still trying to break free of the docking clamps holding the ship here, I have instructed the helm to alternate port and starboard thrusts to weaken the grip the gangway has been retracted. Any communication with the station has so far gone unheeded. automated systems on the station are not functioning. Once we break the docking clamps we will make a run for the nebula to get outside of the station's interference field. It extends 5 kilometers beyond the perimeter of the station.

"Helm alternate port and starboard thrusters, try to break us free of the docking clamps," Maia said.

Structural integrity was a little sluggish the whine of the engines and the vibrations were pretty violent but the Leto was able to break free at last.

"Helm set a course out of her course 179 mk 4 thrusters 250 kph. until we clear the station's interference field, then bring the impulse engines online. We need to get the hell out of here."

"T'PLana'Hath get down to engineering and assist Mr. Tanger to get the warp core online," Maia ordered.

"Mr Gibbs, when we enter the nebula again our sensors and shields will be useless. I want you to rig a probe and drop it here to give us telemetry as long as possible," Maia said.

"I'm working on it." Rick raised an eyebrow at having to be reminded about the nebula's effects. Ignoring it though to set up the probe. Going ahead and launching it into place.

=/\= Mr Tanger I am sending you some help, do what you can to bring the warp core Maia said.

=/\= Aye, Captain. I will be happy to do so. I must admit that my mind is starting to feel my own once again. But the warp core will be my focus. Tanger out. =/\=

That was good news, The Leto wasn't going to get very far without their chief engineer. As long as they could get back into the nebula at least her people would start to feel normal. Yes their shields and sensors would be useless, and they could very well be walking into a trap it was possible that the Borg was using the nebula for exactly the same reasons Maia wanted to use it. Hiding from the El'Aurian weapons complex.

Maia felt a minor bump as they passed through the station's reality membrane. Her head started clearing almost immediately, she lost her sense of dread. The ship's systems started to return to normal.

"Do you all feel that? I think we are out of the reality displacement field." Emergency lighting came back on as they reentered the nebula.

Maia did not like being in wonky areas of space/time. The normal rules of physics simply didn't work properly and caused all sorts of biological and mechanical side effects that were extremely difficult to overcome.

Surprisingly they were still getting sensor telemetry from the probe they launched.

Maia got up and walked over to Mr. Gibbs, station.

The El'Aurian station seemed to be glowing like there was a transporter beam in effect and the station was starting to phase.

"What do you make of that Mr Gibbs," Maia asked.

Rick turned his head to look at Maia a moment and then back, taking a long breath in and then letting it out. "I'd reckon to guess, the mix of the technology and physiology has been pushed to its limit. So they are trying to skip back to where they were to try again later."

"It does seem strange indeed, you think they are reverting to an earlier state of development. Interesting," Maia said.

Belbre replied as she put it on the main view screen. "If done right we can cause an explosion of the gasses built up in this area with the phasers. That along with other things could in combination help us to escape. The explosion would create a shock wave we could ride out of here on. Much like when people get on surfboards and ride a wave in an ocean or sea, once clean the helm should be able to glide us off of the wave."

"I agree with Belbre. Ride the resulting wave out," Sheena said, thankful they were finally free, or were they?

"I don't think that would work Havri in the nebula we have no shields. We have nothing to angle like a surfboard. Plus we don't even know if our phasers would penetrate that warped reality field we just passed through," Maia said.

=/\= Bridge to engineering what is the status of the warp core?=/\=

=/\= Tanger, here. I am pleased to say that in about twenty minutes you can use warp but only warp 1 at best, Give me about an hour and we could maybe get up to warp 3. Will need about five more hours to allow us to get up to warp 5 or faster. but that is better than it was. =/\=

=/\=That will do Mr. Tanger, Sterling out=/\=

"Helm bring the impulse engines online and increase to 1/2 impulse power."

"Aye Captain, 1/2 impulse power," the Helmsman replied.

Robert knew he was not really needed on the Bridge. But following recent events in Sickbay Hendon wanted to keep a close eye on some of the crew. Just in case something went wrong. He had hidden on him his trusted hypo spray. After all, it was better to be safe than sorry.

"Ah Dr Hendon how is Marina," Maia asked.

“ Calm for now. But we really need to get away from that thing.” Hendon said pointing at the station.

"We are moving as fast as we can under the circumstances," Maia replied.

"Atmospheric reports are clear, Ma'am," she said, blankly. "Radiation wise, I mean. Feel free to proceed at flank speed," she reported. "Watching the Nacelle's hulls-I am a bit worried about impacts we took from the warp field. I can't get readings on that yet; we're still too close." She sighed deeply.

Our warp field is down Mr. Tanger hasn't restored it yet, what kind of readings are you getting, Number One." Maia asked.

The Leto slowly drove even deeper into the Nebula.

Robert moved over to Gibbs and scanned him. “ How are you feeling?” He asked

"Me?" Rick glanced at Robert a moment, "I feel fine, why?"

Belbre looked at her instrumentation, "Captain, we will have shields back in 3.5 minutes then we will have extra protection from whatever is going on. Also, I am reading a strange signal at mark 116.3, 3.5 Kilometers away. I don't believe it to be a ship. But it appears to be able to move to different positions. that is random. I am able to track it and the positions are always the same positions every time. I can use a phaser to defend against it if needed.

"Shields are useless in this nebula, but so are tractor beams and targeting scanners. the odds will be more or less even if we are attacked." Maia said.

At the CO's words, Paisley let out a deep sigh. "We're sitting ducks, then. What's the plan, Cap?" She asked. She was out of ideas, but then, she was the CSO, not a Helms person, and her idea of "tactical warfare" was to try to carry 20 agar plates at one time without dropping a single one. Truly a feat, really.
